Because by definition a marriage is the union between a man and a woman. If they change the definition of this word, what other words will they change next? Communication will break down and everything becomes ambiguous. Look at the Tower of Babel. They couldn't communicate with each other and an entire nation of people was scattered.

Don't be selfish. Think of the greater good of society, if you intend to stay with the society you're familiar with.

Because words in the English language never change their meaning.
I guess Corporations are no longer considered persons than.

Who the f-ck cares what it's called when same sex couples find a partner. It's silly to get stuck up on it, if someone's against same sex couples, they aren't going to become any more tolerant if the partnership of gays is called 'marriage' or not, and the gays shouldn't give a fudge and should be glad they've got a partner.

It isn't progressive to argue about this sh-t. We all understand what marriage is. Let's focus on something IMPORTANT.

Hopefully discrimination for sexual orientation/gender identity becoming illegal would follow legal gay marriage. To have gay marriage be legal would also be social acceptance. It's much more than just being able to sign a marriage contract. rolleyes

Many other countries accept gay marriage as well.

Will take longer for everyone to be able to but people are starting to be more open minded and support gay marriage.
