Welcome to Gaia! ::

Looks matter. Deal with it. I'm not dating a fat ******** cow. I can be friends with one, but if your appearance makes me PHYSICALLY ILL upon viewing, no, I'm not going to FORCE MYSELF to PRETEND I like it. I DON'T think size 16 is beautiful, I think it's disgusting. I have eyes, and tastes, for a reason. I'm entitled to an opinion on a person's physical appearance.

Thinking someone is "beautiful" is just as "shallow" as thinking someone is "ugly"; you're still formulating an opinion on their goddamn looks. So get over yourself.

It's not about society. It's not about media. It's about having ******** standards. Don't like my standards? Stop worrying about them.

I'm Fat, proud and Love FOOD... scream DEAL WITH IT!!Why is it always the stupid things that matter? We live in a world where Looks, and SIZE matters, it almost feels like High school and we never left. And some of the people that say that Looks matter...Haven't look in the mirror lately...or at least when they say it! It's like the pot calling the kettle black. Forgive me that I like girls that Actually like to EAT more than just a box of raisins

Because whether we want to admit it or not, human beings are naturally somewhat shallow. We want a mate who is attractive to us. Now, the definition of "attractive" may vary from person to person, but the media does raise the bar for the expectations we have of other people's appearances.

Either way, it's natural to have standards of attractiveness. It's not natural to dissect and belittle other people constantly, however. That is called being an a**.

My best friend Jessica is fat and I still hang out with her.

Well, aren't you a saint.. rolleyes
we live in society that's obsessed with being thin.
Because it's a matter of preference and beauty is relative.
What differs is the way people voice their opinion on the subject, some are more discrete than others, etc.
Besides, humans are shallow to an extent because it's part of their nature, and society has dictated for a long time that fat= ugly/unhealthy.
While it's not true in some cases, some people can get the impression that a fat person is automatically unhealthy/lazy and that obviously has a negative connotation.

Not everyone is going to think a fat girl is beautiful as well as not everyone is going to think a skinny girl is beautiful. It's just a matter of preference.
I wear a size 7. or a 9

But I am all bones and boobs.

You hear girls talking about it because it's probably inconvenient to find clothing sizes.
I mean, for example, my mom is skinny, but not anorexic-skinny. We went to Chico's in town, and the 00 size didn't work. They sent us on their way telling us to order size 000 online.
The pants either were loose, or made her butt look saggy, fat, and invisible (which is not as attractive as it sounds).

It's hard finding sizes, so we tend to rant in the store. And then people hear us.
Everyone has their preference
It's stupid, especially because your dress size doesn't determine your worth, and being "fat" doesn't mean you sit around eating cheeseburgers all day.

It's fine to have a preference in body type and what you find more attractive, but just because someone falls outside of your view of beauty, doesn't make them fair game for bullying.
Happy little toast

I actually do find them quite repulsive. Each for multiple reasons, not just the nasty legs.
