Probably because even though hes a jerk, hes still a person, therefore he still has hormones, and hes still a man, therefore he naturally wants a women sometime in his life

At the time, he thought the reason Goku was so strong was because he fought for others, so Vegeta had a family, thinking he'd be strong like Goku. It kinda failed, but in the end, Vegeta grew to love his family.

According to the manga it never actually says they married but Trunks does say to Vegeta, "Why didn't you save your WIFE and your son?" and Vegeta didn't correct him at all, so that says they were married or Vegeta thought they were as good as married.

I imagined they were both very lonely and got together just to not be alone at first, but then as time went by they figured they actually LOVED each other (gasp!!). I dunno what female Saiyans are like but I'd imagine Bulma's as stubborn and head strong as any, which is probably what Vegeta was attracted to. Even as mean as Vegeta was, he treated Bulma very well considering the hell he went through as a youth.

But I think Akira Toriyama purposely didn't talk about it too much in the manga so it could be left up to the viewer's imagination, so there really is no right or wrong answer.

I would say that would be a pretty close (as close as we can get) explanation.

Why I think Toriyama did not elaborate on their relationship is because the fans might think it was too shoujo or something. >__>;; Darn it.

Ok, people. I'm a huge BV fan, so let me clear up some things for you. heart

1. Bulma was afraid on namek, but she undoubtably heard the story of his death and softened up to him. She invited him to stay with her and called him cute.

2. The GR accident happens - Bulma starts to care for Vegeta more and ignores Yamcha more. Vegeta realizes that she cares for him, but is too prideful to do anything yet.

3. Yamcha CHEATED on Bulma, so she left him. She was lonely, Vegeta was lonely, they created Trunks.

4. Vegeta did not care about his family at first. He fights with Bulma a lot. While F. Trunks comes, Vegeta bonds a little and begins to accept being a Father to a weakling's child.

5. By the time Buu shows up, Vegeta has come to love his family. LOVE. Watch the episode where he kills himself if you don't believe me.

And also, I do not believe that they are married. The word "wife" could just be a bad translation, or the fact that F. Trunks didn't know his father and F. Bulma probably doesn't talk about him (he wasn't nice to her - he died in the Android attacks; ie. he didn't have that bonding time with his future future son).

Oh, and stop hating on Vegeta. domokun
