Definitely Austin Wintory's soundtrack for the indie game Journey
It is very zen and emotional and consists of deep beautiful cellos and a genius conducted orchestra.
Holy Dayum.
I can't say I have a top favorite, either, but some to definitely consider would be...
Up, Ratatouille, Hugo, War Horse, Chicago, Les Miserables, Sherlock Holmes (Robert Downey Jr. versions), and anything else you can find by John Williams, Howard Shore or Hans Zimmer. ^^
Well for musicals it's a 3-way tie Chicago/West Side Story/Moulin Rouge, but Chicago probably wins. The soundtrack is incredible, and the musical is rather genius. One of the best things to watch and there's no genuinely good protagonist. (And don't say Amos, because he's a lump on a log).
For movies.......god I don't know. Probably Lord of the Rings. Howard Shore is incredible.
Games? Gonna say a tie Ocarina of Time and Wind Waker for me.
And anime? Fairy Tail. Hands down. Main reason I got into it was the soundtrack.
In no particular order, these are my most favorites.... There are more I'm sure but this was all I could remember.
♥ Coraline
♥ Pride and Prejudice
♥ Un Monstre a Paris
♥ Silver Linings Playbook
♥ Labyrinth
♥ The Wizard of Oz
♥ Pretty in Pink
