Military shouldn't exist in the first place.

get a life scum bag.
I've got one, dedicated to love.
Apparently you're not that dedicated to it if you won't die for it...

Back when I was really into Japanese culture and was watching The Last Samurai; when I saw Tom Cruse and his companions being gunned down at the tad end, I wanted to fight and die with them.

Is that crazy?

I think it is. sweatdrop

For love? I am always willing to die for love. But there is no cause for which I am willing to kill.
Not even for your own life?
No. For universal love, collective harmony, I would be willing to sacrifice my life.

Human instinct will prevent that from happening.
I think it is an admirable consideration... the Army is the easiest job you'll ever hate...
I'm from a military family and I'm currently serving in the army... most people who talk against it
are those people who a) either failed out or where chaptered because they were lazy... or b) the 99% of the population who doesn't have what it takes to serve their country...

less than 1% of the population chooses to serve, and while it might not be for everyone, your
reasons for wanting to join are far from the worst... sure it takes a lot physically and mentally, but
they do that for a reason... we don't need stupid unstable people holding guns that risk the lives of
our soldiers... don't listen to anyone else here spouting crap in the forum about joining... take your time and think about it. You can always just do one short term and decide if you want to stay in or
not, and meanwhile you'll have your college paid for if you don't stay.

As I said before, those instincts may one day become obsolete, as humanity is a young race yet.

It's in human nature to have conflict. Within human intelligence there is a dark side. One that we cannot control. Based not on reason, but on fear and intolerance. Instinct is still with man, and forever will remain.
That's not necessarily true; you only have a few millennia of human existence on which to base that statement. Humanity is very young as a race, and it isn't improbable to think that one day that instinct will become obsolete.

There is only 300 years of documented peace on Earth when Humans became the dominant species.

You're right. Only 300 years. That's really not that long, considering A) the earth has been around for billions of years, and B) humanity was even younger and less advanced then as they are now.

Quote:
Two major mechanisms determine which variants will become more common or rare in a population. One is natural selection, a process that causes helpful traits (those that increase the chance of survival and reproduction) to become more common in a population and causes harmful traits to become more rare. This occurs because individuals with advantageous traits are more likely to reproduce, meaning that more individuals in the next generation will inherit these traits.[2][3] Over many generations, adaptations occur through a combination of successive, small, random changes in traits, and natural selection of the variants best-suited for their environment.[4] The other major mechanism driving evolution is genetic drift, an independent process that produces random changes in the frequency of traits in a population. Genetic drift results from the role that chance plays in whether a given trait will be passed on as individuals survive and reproduce.

Wikipedia? Really?

My point was that you can't prove that the instinct of conflict will always be part of society; that can't be accurately predicted.
