I have really been giving it some thought when i am done with high school i may wait a year or i will just go straight into the army I need some help thinking about this. I already have 1 of my friends in the army and my Dad was as well so i guess i will follow his steps....

Research it. and if you do decide to enlist. Get a contract written up with the recruiter to milk all the benefits you can from it.

I was in the Navy for 4 years. My dad was in the Air force.

A lot of people will tell you not to do it, they'll try to scare you with stories about dieing. and confuse you with their political nonsense.

The decision in YOURS and YOURS alone.

I'm not saying theres no hazards in the job. But if you can get past it all, suck up your pride and follow orders. You'll have gained an experience that a LOT of people would be too afraid to obtain.

like I said. research it, and make an educated decision based on that. Get a contract that benefits YOU.

I admire those who are willing to serve our country and I did put some thought into joining to become a medic or nurse. However having been an Army wife for 5 years, I have seen what my husband has been put through, and how much of a fight it is now to get his benefits. (He was honorably discharged for combat related medical disability). At the moment I am too busy taking care of him and our 4 year old to think about joining the service.

no this is no longer "Americas" army its the government's, it pisses me off to see brave and good men die just so that the Government can take away the rights the soldiers die to preserve...
as bad as murder to convince of suicide in my opinion.
no offense i have no doubts everyone in the military are great people and your father probably fought justly but i would never fight unless i had the country backing me up and you could trust in the armies ideals
