Wow, what a time for this thread to get popular!
I had a friend I met back in the 4th grade, and we were in this close-knit group. When I moved away, I lost contact with her. I haven't seen her since my 14th birthday party.
Well I got an e-mail the other day. She said hi, missed me, had an update on what everyone was doing now with their adult lives, and finally...
that she, is now a he.
For now, "Kay" is progressing. She hasn't undergone enough surgery and hormone therapy to be considered male yet, but in her own mind, he is no longer a girl.
Shocked the s**t out of me (espescially since last time I saw her she had a pretty decent-sized rack), but I'm fine with it. ......kind of makes sense now that I look back.

Gender is mental. Sex is physical. If you claim to be a sex, before a reassignment surgery, that does not match your genitalia, then no, you are not that sex. You can, however, be that gender. After a reassignment surgery, no one can tell whether you were or weren't born that gender.
