- 1. Familiarize yourself with the chatterbox rules and guidelines, as well as the gaia terms of service. if a rule exists on that page that doesn't exist here, or vice-versa, treat it as if it were the word of an especially vengeful god
2. no explicit sexual content in the thread. quote-unquote mature subjects are open for discussion, but we don't like to hear too many details.
3. No solicitation of cybering. this means that you may not invite other users to message you for sexual roleplays in the body of your posts or in your signature. if a user informs a moderator that you have been messaging other posters about cybering, you will be banned from the thread and reported for harassment. additionally, if you post RP solicitations containing any of the following phrases, you will most likely receive an instant ban:
-"no limits"
-"open to anything"
-"have some 'fun' "
-"I'm not picky"
-"send me some ideas"
-"something exciting and new"
-"let's brainstorm"
4. Don't do anything in an RP fight that will instigate an OOC fight. don't Godmode, don't complain if another user insists that you're dead, and don't insult other people if they aren't subscribing to your personal brand of fantasy physics. this is not a barton town RP forum; at best, we have a casual RP following, and we'd like posting in the thread to remain fun for everyone regardless of their preferred degree of role-play.
5. no disrespecting thread mods. respond to all moderator requests and judgments respectfully if you wish to continue posting in the forest thread. if you disagree with a moderator decision, PM one of the other thread moderators about the issue and see if the situation can be reversed or repaired. none of us are infallible. however, please do not dispute any disciplinary action taken against you in the thread.
6. No disrespecting other users. You can, of course, disagree and address your complaints with other users in the thread, but if you're a consistently venomous a*****e with no traces of a funny bone, we reserve the right to take action. don't be passive-aggressive and whiny about other users. If you've got a problem with someone, it's always better to address the issue directly than to gossip about them where everyone can see.
7. Do not interfere with the activities of other thread guests. we are not always the most welcoming group, and people get teased and made fun of all the time in this thread. however, if another active poster is roleplaying or holding a conversation and your interactions with them appear to be antagonistic to the point that the other guest is having a hard time keeping up with their role play/chat, then you will receive a warning from a moderator. once warned, if you continue to harass the user in question, you will most likely receive a ban. the purpose of this rule is to encourage role play and friendships to form in-thread, without the fear of public mockery. basically, if someone explicitly asks for you to stop quoting their posts so that they can continue their role play/conversation, we would like for you to respect their wishes.
8. No starters that violate any code of decency. I don't ******** care if you're a libertine or believe that man was meant to engage in coitus with octopi. There will be no rape, sexual assault, bestiality, nor incest in my threaed. Again, discretion is advised. Hardcore BDSM is out, but kidnapping is in. Basically, if you might see it on TV and there’s no other rule against it, you probably have nothing to worry about. If it seems as though your intentions were innocent but your starter still violates thread rules, you will receive a warning, at most, for violating this rule.
9. No sexually-explicit images. Though the thread operates under a PG-16 rating, you better make sure that any t&a in your pictures is covered up. Moderators reserve the right to ban you for advertising pics that break thread rules in your journal.
10. Manage your post sizes. If your RPC is larger than your post, it's probably too big. If you have maybe 6 different images that you want to include in your post, hyperlink to them instead of embedding every single image. It makes the thread much easier to browse for the regular posters.
11. No couches.
