Ah. I didn't pay gaia enough attention to notice. Last thing like that that i can recall was the lottery or something. And people's growing willingness to spend cash.
The elite shops were apparently supposed to be gold sinks of sorts. I don't really see anyone wearing those items though, so I have no idea how well that's working out...
It's not working, really. Most of the gold circulates between users via trade or the MP and the MP tax isn't high enough to mitigate inflation, but if they raise the tax, everyone will raise their prices.
