Something I've noticed with a lot of artists is that

emotion seems scarce in their art. It's one thing to draw a slightly peeved guy staring off into the distance, and another to draw someone just plain seething - huge eyes, gritted teeth, and bulging veins.

I miss the highly cartoonized art styles that just emote all over the damn place. They're rare anymore, even if you offer real money. emotion_eyebrow

I can appreciate both styles, but I agree with what you've said. the porcelain doll look is over done and I get way more of a perk out of seeing actual style and by that I mean expressive proportions and faces. x3 and I can draw anything.

I only like to draw pictures with emotions and meaning in them, not something plain/dull that everyone else has done. Unless I'm bored then I won't care lol

emotion is passe. if you show emotion on the internet, you lose. that's why - I don't think it has anything to do with art or artists. it's just that people want to be seen as cool and indifferent.

I just obtained a tablet like device this week and have only used it once so far. haven't been in a drawing mood. horrible week. you know?

Not just in the CB or Gaia, either. On deviantART, too. I'm offering real money for emotive art and I'm still getting nublets that think they can draw.
