Silly, I said "all BUT abolished". You should seriously notice words like that.

That phrase doesn't actually mean anything. Just like "exception that proves the rule".

What exactly are you saying the Law's status is for Christians? Because, if we consider set theory, if their status is the set of all things that are not abolished, then one of the things applied to their status is enforcement. By that meaningless phrase, you've just claimed the Law was enforced after God's Grace, and kosher laws are in the Law.

So, please, explain what you feel the status of the Law is for Christians. In detail, if you could, so we can better understand.

If the dietary laws count.......define Mark's verse to me where it says, "Thus God declared all foods clean."

I'm not saying they count. I've said and suggested many times throughout the thread that Christians are NOT bound by the Law at all, only by Christ's teachings. Christ's teachings did occasionally coincide with the Law, but it is not because they were in the Law that we follow them.

I would like YOU to tell ME what YOUR beliefs as to the status of the Law to Christians are.

Law of Christians?

Um.....let's see, too many to post. Just the whole Bible.

*sigh*

Perhaps you don't understand what I mean by the Law. The Law refers to the Old Testament laws described some in Exodus, but mostly in Leviticus and Deuteronomy. They were the laws given to Moses who conveyed them to the Jews.

What laws from those laws do Christians have to follow, and which ones were, as you say, "taken out"?
Missed this again...

I don't think this one got a response, either...

Phanari
OT laws were all but abollished after God's Grace.

Indeed. Colossians 2:13-16, Hebrews 7:18-19 and Galatians 3:21-25.

So why, then, did you cite Leviticus 18:22 in support of your claim that homosexuality is a sin if the OT laws were abolished?

Silly, I said "all BUT abolished". You should seriously notice words like that.

And yet you haven't provided any sort of scripture to counter the verses I cited and support your citation of Leviticus.

Really, though, this could be cleared up even faster. The Levitical laws are Jewish, and it's not much effort for me to poke someone who is Jewish and can tell you about how the laws were written in Hebrew and what they actually mean, as well as telling you how the laws apply to Jews only. Sure, she'll be doing so through the use of Judaism, but Jesus himself was Jewish...

You purposefully misquoted her. Where has she lied? Why do you even post here if you are not getting what you want? Just use the report system and stop bumping it.

To continue posting here is to display your own hypocrisy.

You noticed that too, I see.
Second time on here it's happened. Worth ignoring such stupidity.

It is quite likely that this thread will be burned and your account receive a formal warning. I have had this happen for far less. When you do not answer direct questions on the ED and when you do not source or stay on topic you are unfortunately digging a hole.

May I suggest you find a moderator and ask them to move your thread asap so you don't have these unfortunate occurrences as a penalty?

Why? This is the forum for Morality and RELIGION. No other forums for religion.

LAWL Now I KNOW you are trolling. This is the ED. The M&R is another forum and you would definitely be out of your depth there. The rules for that forum are even more strict, unless of couse you are Mormon then you can do what you want with your "FAQ."

God never took THAT law out.
But see, where do you or your church get the authority to state this and how is your law derived?

User ImageO.o I didn't say that, she did.

Whenever I come one here, there are so many people speaking out AGAINST Our Lord. Which is SO ironic considering they claim to be "non-conformists". So immature.

I'm speaking in behalf of The Only Lord.

It sickens me how with how much He's done for us, most take it and don't even thanks Him. Much less NOTICE it was His doing.

It's rather sad. No one in this day and age seems to believe that God has a place in our world. When, He created it, so that kinda means.............He DOES!
I'd rather believe the scientific proof over "faith", then again I have a thingy for tangibility

That thingie is called materialism and it will come back to bite you in the bummy.
whoa get your facts straight sweetheart, thats not materialism, it's the belief in Evolution,But believe me I gave god a chance for 8 years after that it just wasn't for me, I just find that the belief in something that no one has ever seen a bit hard to believe. Try to get your facts straight before you call somebody something that they are not.
I also never saw an answer to Jaa's post - I'm really interested as to what the answer will be...

And why would I want this?

This isn't a trick question, mind you. I'm being completely serious. Every single description of paradise I have ever heard sounds like a frightfully boring place. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure the first few billion years are great, but I can't recall any specific passages alluding to what Siphillis just mentioned. With that in mind, it sounds like I'd have a rather boring time of it after I fulfilled my desire to see the inner workings of the universe in action for the trillionth time, and no matter how awesome this state is, I can't imagine my imperfect human mind every being satisfied. Unless YHWH reaches down and removes some of what makes me, in a very real sense human, this really just sounds like an offer to sit in a room with forty movies to watch for all eternity. No thanks. I'll take oblivion.

Please clarify. If you're asking a question...I first need to UNDERSTAND it.

...You're joking. The question was pretty simple; 'Why would I wish to see Paradise? It sounds rather dull to me.'

Paste error, likely. I've had that happen a few times - I'll take it for granted that I've copied someone's quote tag and accidentally just paste a quote tag towards someone else. Usually I catch it before I post, but once I managed to not catch it until someone else pointed it out...

By accepting Jesus as one's savior and attempting to avoid sin through following his teachings, yes?

Basically. Best way of saying that is: living life for Him.

In other words...

Wikipedia - Christianity
Christianity (from the word Xριστός "Christ") is a monotheistic religion centered on the life and teachings of Jesus of Nazareth as presented in the New Testament. The Christian faith is essentially faith in Jesus as the Christ (or Messiah), the Son of God, the Savior, and God (Yahweh or the "Lord") himself.

Adherents of Christianity, known as Christians, believe that Jesus is the Messiah prophesied in the Hebrew Bible (the part of scripture common to Christianity and Judaism). Orthodox Christian theology claims that Jesus suffered, died, and was resurrected to open heaven to humans. They further maintain that Jesus ascended into heaven, and most denominations teach that Jesus will return to judge all humans, living and dead, and grant immortality to his followers. He is considered the model of a virtuous life, and both the revealer and physical incarnation of God. Christians call the message of Jesus Christ the Gospel ("good news") and hence refer to the earliest written accounts of his ministry as gospels.

...being Christian.

So, can you prove that being Christian is the only way to obtain this paradise?

Wikipedia is plagerism at it's finest. lol
Also, I never said that Christianity was the only way to Paradise. I said Christ was. MANY times.

The exact wording does not matter because the two things mean exactly the same thing. "The only way to get paradise is to accept Jesus as your savior and attempt to avoid sin through following his teachings" == "The only way to get to paradise is to be Christian".

Merriam-Webster - Christian
1 a: one who professes belief in the teachings of Jesus Christ

You can quit dancing around and answer my question now.

The Creator does not need us to speak for him.

He has the final say, in the end.

So, it does not matter.
I think your word are only for those whole believe in a creator.

Probably too caught up in things to have noticed, but I could be wrong. I hope I am, at any rate.

Obviously.

Even then, there is still no need to debate whether or not there is one.

Knowing about The Creator is based upon personal experiences.

I cannot convey mine to you, nor can you convey yours to me.

With that being said, it's not my belief that if you do not believe in a Divine Power you are to be eternally damned.
