You said that Christians don't believe that Christianity is the only why to get to heaven and then said they believe the only way to get to heaven is through Christianity.

No. I said the only way is through CHRIST ALONE. Not being Christian. To get to Heaven, all you have to do is accept Him into your heart and live life for Him. It's not rocket science.

User ImageActually, we believe the only way to Heaven is through Christ, not through Christianity. Someone does not have to follow all Christian ways to be TECHNICALLY Christian. Christianity is about the relationship with God, and accepting Christ. (Although, I'm pretty sure not all Christians believe this. Ieno)

Yeah, and that's the definition of a Christian is it not? Someone who considers Christ there lord and saviour.

If you want to get technical I suppose you could include those who don't really believe it but call themselves Christian for other purposes, but Lord Setar wasn't refering to them; he was refering to those who actually believe.

And why would I want this?

This isn't a trick question, mind you. I'm being completely serious. Every single description of paradise I have ever heard sounds like a frightfully boring place. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure the first few billion years are great, but I can't recall any specific passages alluding to what Siphillis just mentioned. With that in mind, it sounds like I'd have a rather boring time of it after I fulfilled my desire to see the inner workings of the universe in action for the trillionth time, and no matter how awesome this state is, I can't imagine my imperfect human mind every being satisfied. Unless YHWH reaches down and removes some of what makes me, in a very real sense human, this really just sounds like an offer to sit in a room with forty movies to watch for all eternity. No thanks. I'll take oblivion.

Lord Setar
Don't really give much of a crap about sex because I'm probably the biggest loser this side of loserville. Never even had a girlfriend that wasn't online. I would moreso care if there was a lack of weed.

'Course, Revelation 21 says that heaven will simply be the New Jerusalem and God will simply live among men in the New Jerusalem...so I don't really see how the bit about angels fits in there. That aside, though, it's time for the final question:

Can you prove that Christianity is the only true religion - that is, can you prove that the only way to obtain paradise is to be Christian? Furthermore, can you prove that your god exists and that we will indeed obtain this paradise?

Please clarify. If you're asking a question...I first need to UNDERSTAND it.

'Scuse me for taking a while, I'm playing through Halo on Legendary. That's no easy feat.

Anyway, there's three question's - one from Jaa, and two from me.

Jaa's is quite simple. Given what he's explained, why would he want this "paradise"?

Mine are also simple. Can you prove that the only way to obtain paradise is to be Christian? For that matter, can you prove that this paradise exists as you have described it?

Actually, I was referring to just that, for that's really just what makes one Christian according to evangelical definitions - accept Jesus as your savior, et cetera et cetera. Other denominations of Christianity are different with what they think is required =/

Now I get the question.
Why prove Christianity is the ONLY way to paradise? Not even Christians believe that. We believe that the only way to obtain Paradise is through Christ and Christ alone.

User ImageWell, there are the steps of repenting, but that's technically in the accepting Christ step, and trying to live without sin/repenting again when you sin, but that's technically in the live for Him sin.

But then, sadly, there are some Christians who think they're perfect, and without sin after they accept Christ. :/

By accepting Jesus as one's savior and attempting to avoid sin through following his teachings, yes?

Very sad. But let's never forget the "feel-good" Christians who have those pastors that practically preach from The Message as they do their best not to OFFEND their congregation. They not only make me sad, but.....kkinda peeve me.

User ImageI've never read The Message, but I heard it was only translated by one person. Which is silly, honestly.
