*Sigh* I do not understand why everyone has to be so critical about if there is god or not. Obviously there is someone or something out there that started life, the universe, and everything.

User Image

THIS is why!
Why? Why does there have to be something? Why can't you believe s**t just happens?

True, s**t does happen. But why? How? It's just the questions science doesn't have answers to. Maybe god wanted Obama to become president, maybe it was just Obama who said one day, I'll be President. We will never know why.

User Image

Gravity and nuclear fission.
...
DONE!
That, boys and girls, is why s**t happens. It's shoved out by fission and pulled in by gravity. Then some s**t mashes together and that's the universe!
Why is that so ******** hard to grasp? Is it any harder to believe than that a supreme being, an all-being, all powerful, all knowing, supremely mighty entity would give a ******** who sits in a round room for four to eight years?!
This is why atheists get so psychotic. they're surrounded by people who cannot understand the basic structure of ******** reality. Every day, you're fighting your way through the nut house, trying to keep the kids from chewing on the walls cause they think it's made of cheese, and after awhile, you stop saying "Excuse me" to the lunatics you're pushing through.

I never said I didn't understand. That was just not nice crying . Thinking I don't know what I'm saying.... anyway. Are you sure that's what happened? Were you there? oh and btw I'm not religious or atheistic. I'm just curious.

User Image

It's an incredibly simple formula.
There is X amount of matter in the universe moving outward with Y amount of energy. As both exist simultaneously, we must assume both were formed at the same time, else one would exceed the other and nothing would exist save X matter or Y energy. As both exist due to singularity Z, we can assume both were contained within singularity Z. And, as no singularity can exist infinitely, we can assume before Z was formed, X and Y previously existed as well, before collapsing backwards to form Z, thus expelling X and Y once again.
It's the rubber band effect, done on a universal scale.

Interesting... Now how did the matter get there?

That matter is the physical form of the universe. In short, it didn't "get there", it is "there".
My belief is that the universe is in a constant flux between expelling outward from the creation event, singularity Z in the above, and being drawn back into said creation event when the expelling force is no longer greater or equal to the gravity of the universe.
Think of it as a giant rubber band. It's stretched outward until it reaches the limit of the stretching force, then it draws itself back towards it's center, compacting it's mass, before rebounding itself outward once again.

We will never be sure of it. No one can be. You may think (or a better word Believe) that this happened or something else happened, but humanity will never be truely, absolutly, with all their heart, sure that what they say is true. Simply because we don't know.

Yeah. But it's not the guys in the white coats saying they have the one and only answer and anyone who disagrees must be killed.

No one has to fight for god on this forum.. Why would we fight for something we don't believe in? If you don't like the crap we say, then go to MyPraize or some religious website that CARES.
My POV on this subject: I don't believe in god because of all of the REALISTIC theories of how the earth and humans were created, as AsuraSyn said Gravity and Nuclear fission. I just think it is bullshit to say "Oh, God created man, yadda yadda yadda..." If he created humans and earth then how was he created?
Prove that he's done a lot for us.

That's a slightly diffrent story. The people who kill you because you think something else just don't like being told they are wrong. And that is what's going on people continue to say "You're wrong! God Doesn't exsist!"
"He does too!"
"Nuh uh!"
"Yeah Huh!"
"Nuh uh!"
"Yeah Huh!" (See what I did there? I made everybody sound like a child ^_^)
Moving on, the people who kill for what they think happened are just crazy murderers trying to justify their killing.

I'm a Christian. I will fight for it no matter who has a problem.
yes, God is strong enough to fend for Himself, but who is gonna spread the word that He is? it really bugs me how people saw God has no place in our modern world anymore. it's really messed up. have you not seen how horrible our modern world is? disease, war, and even more? who do you think is keeping us alive and around. God. there are so many signs and events that are completely unexplainable unless you see that God has done it! how do you explain the creation of the universe? the "big bang theory"?
there was a big bang.
and GOD said, LET THERE BE LIGHT.
I'm not gonna hate you because you're not a Christian. that's just not in my nature. I dated a Wiccan. I accept you for who you are. it just burns me that people can be so ignorant and post that God doesn't have a place in this modern world. God needs more of a place.

Indeed, however, religion does have a certain appeal for such psychotics.
And not all of them were dangerous before they got right with the Lord. I've met my share of people whom simply got sucked into the mythology too deep and could no longer function around people who contradicted that ideology and were driven to... let's say, very bad acts.
