Your god needs you to defend him?
...on the internet?!
...
Pretty much sums up the whole religion right there, now doesn't it?

Doesn't exist.
religion started as a political system to control the masses.
I mean, if your the king of an empire in the iron age you need something to enforce your laws.
Whats better than telling people they will burn in hell for eternity if they dont follow your laws.

Religion is also just another form of terrorism.
Terrorists enforce there way of thinking on others through the use of fear.
What is more frightening than being told that if you dont believe in god that you will go to hell!?
Therefore, religion is Terrorism.
I win.
*Sigh* I do not understand why everyone has to be so critical about if there is god or not. Obviously there is someone or something out there that started life, the universe, and everything. Science doesn't have all the answers and nither does religion. Science is a more realistic way to think of the universe, perhaps a little more organised, religion is a way to explain what we don't know. A very effective way but I digress. Nobody ever stops to think about the missing peices. Perhaps it is god, perhaps it is science, maybe it's both! Knowone will ever be sure until they die and find out (If they find out). Until then, we will continue this idiodic arguing.

THIS is why!
Why? Why does there have to be something? Why can't you believe s**t just happens?

Don't know why you guys are getting so frustrated. Everyone knows the ED loves a good Christian debate. xD

That being said - I doubt the OP is going to change any minds here. There are Christians on the ED, and very clever, nice ones, too - there's just also a lot of atheists. I'm not so sure I get the point of the post, though. Are you specifically hoping to convert people, teach people, show them the error of their ways? What do you hope to achieve?
Jesus is awesome!!!

mrgreen mrgreen mrgreen

and thats probably one of the worst things that pisses me off about gaia is the fierce atheism that alot of people have.
idc what religion you are
idc if you dont have one
but i can not tell you how many religious arguments ive seen in threads that say "this is not up to argue religions" or "please dont argue about religion on here"...
its kind of irritating

True, s**t does happen. But why? How? It's just the questions science doesn't have answers to. Maybe god wanted Obama to become president, maybe it was just Obama who said one day, I'll be President. We will never know why.

I think that's more to keep threads from turning into Christian vs. Atheist threads - which so many have - than actually to keep Christians from shutting up. neutral

Science declares such.

If something cannot come from nothing, then the universe could not have just appeared. Something had to create it. However, the issue at hand is that something. Again, using the same theory, we must conclude that something else created something.

...See how the ladder extends?

This is probably one of the worst things about gaia; the fierce illiteracy.
I do care that you use English.
I don't care if you don't actually know how.
I wish you would make a clear point.

Then there are the Christians that think she is being a fool.

XD Lol.

Not a Christian, actually. I'm just trying to see it from her perspective . . . . Kinda failing, though.

I was referring to myself.

Sure, Jesus said to spread the word. I get that. But there is no sense preaching to people who choose not to listen.

Indeed! Science can tell us so much and have a hole in it (No offense). How did this ladder start getting longer and longer? And who put that ladder there? Was it god? If so, then why? If he is all knowing, he would have had to have seen the terrible things man would do. He would have known man would create weapons of mass destruction and start wars, comit genocide, and other nasty evil things. Why didn't he just quit while he was ahead?

Gravity and nuclear fission.
...
DONE!
That, boys and girls, is why s**t happens. It's shoved out by fission and pulled in by gravity. Then some s**t mashes together and that's the universe!
Why is that so ******** hard to grasp? Is it any harder to believe than that a supreme being, an all-being, all powerful, all knowing, supremely mighty entity would give a ******** who sits in a round room for four to eight years?!
This is why atheists get so psychotic. they're surrounded by people who cannot understand the basic structure of ******** reality. Every day, you're fighting your way through the nut house, trying to keep the kids from chewing on the walls cause they think it's made of cheese, and after awhile, you stop saying "Excuse me" to the lunatics you're pushing through.
