Welcome to Gaia! ::

Thank you for posting this;

It's an easy solution to stop serving ads.

Offer premiums for putting up with viral advertising bullshit. Unfortunately such ads are part and parcel of generating ad revenue on most websites. Since Gaia isn't super mainstream, we have to bear it.

I'd rather it go to a place like that with a few legitimate mixed in with the s**t than having it force-fed to me.

Disney? Sure.

Direct TV? sure.

Paying out the nose for usage-monitoring 'smiley sets' and shitty rap ringtones? -skip-

Which would you rather have, honestly?

Most of us have adblocked this s**t, the least we could do is allow Gaia to corral it somewhere in the dank corners of the site for desperate retards who don't know any better. Scams abound on public ad revenue listings; sorry, folks.

While it turns my stomach; it's no better or worse than any other ad service aside from the fact that it features amounts of GC to be 'earned'. I hope they change the way it sounds, since it can mislead young, stupid people who are fresh out of mommy's nest.

Is there any information on the disney movie offers?

I read the terms and conditions plus looked up information on the website it was on and couldn't find anything, good or bad.

Scam or no?

I thought "YAY I'll be able to get some cash!" Then I saw what the ads were...

WHAT THE HELL!??!?!?!?!?!? Like you can't look at those ads & tell me they are safe... & I like the "This offer was done this many times in the past hour" thing at the top... notice it's not a lot? Because no one will do it =/ It's stupid & wrong lol
Wow. Shame on you, Gaia. I really didn't think they'd go this low. I'm unpleasantly surprised.

.... and now I have a bad taste in my mouth. confused
What about the Disney offer? I was thinking of trying that one, only because I'm interested in the disney movies. But I don't want to give them money before I know for sure it's not a scam...

Oh, and yes, thanks for the info. At first I was like mrgreen at learning at getting free GC, but then I saw what I have to do, and that completely turned me off.

Gaia, what has become of you crying

I'm shocked and disappointed gaia would do this and put their customers personal information at risk with these 3rd party offers. =| Thanks for the information by the way, when I saw those offers I knew something was fishy.

Guess nothing in life is 'free gaia cash'
So basically, the only good one is netflicks.

Gaia? Sometimes you make me cry. There are a bunch of stupid kids that are going to fill out these offers and just lie about being 18, and ******** over their parents by filling family computers with viruses, or signing up for mail-spam, or giving out enough information that their parents suddenly find themselves paying enormous cellphone bills...

You're encouraging them to do this.
Concerning the Disney offer. Contact Disney directly via telephone or e-mail and ask them to confirm if it is a legitimate deal. There are SOME deals like this that ARE legit, but be careful and contact them for more information first!

I haven't checked the offers recently, but I'll go and take a look and see what kind of new dirt I can pull up.

Keep in mind many of these offers also enroll you in a monthly program so you will be charged to your credit card (or cell phone bill if it's a mobile offer) every month. They deliberately make these offers hard to cancel, and they often have hard to understand Customer Service people from India or another country who are trained to make it as difficult as possible for you to cancel.

So essentially many of these offers can ruin your credit too if you're not careful about them. I know for sure that's how those Free Credit Report things work (I got taken in by one a few years ago and I'm still trying to rebuild my credit!) and Video Professor can cost you upwards of 70 to 189 dollars per month for your supposedly free lessons!

Putting this in the first post as well, because it bears repeating!

Gaia's irresponsible actions actually made me call my sister and interrupt her dinner just so I could be sure that my 13-year-old niece would not be signing up for any of these things.

Great! Make sure to tell her about this thread if she needs more information. I would hate for anyone to fall for this crap.
