While the companies making these offers are laced with suspect files, mailware, and sell your personal information to similar marketing companies Gaia is legally not responsible for what they do on their end. That's something they make clear in the announcement they put out earlier today. It's up to people like you to do your homework and inform others and Gaia that what is out there may not be safe. While I totally trust companies like Netflix, Discover, and Direct TV I would not sign up for anything through those links because I do not know if those links are managed by the individual companies or a third party marketing company that's using Gaia to push the companies it represents. Gaia really needs to be made aware of the dangers of what's being tacked on to the companies' links that this third party company is using. It's a shame they have to get a sponsorship from people like this but it's up to all of us to not use those links and continue to get our cash the safe and proper way.

I've lost a computer to viruses, and I don't want anybody else to share the same fate...

I also advise special caution with surveys. A hell of a lot of them are up to no good; either they don't give you jack in the end, or they sell all your info to other companies, or they don't stop pestering you day and night, so on and so forth.

And be extra-super-careful, grownup Gaians, with the credit report ones... if anybody's even doing those. They can actually wreck your credit.

This is very very upsetting to me. I thought eh a survey I will try it out and then reading it made me realize it is no better than a pop up. I am never buying gaia cash again though I rarely did to begin with.

Can you tell me more about the 3D Smiley Toolbar offer? I'd like to post it up on the first post, but I didn't come across it.

We got that offer removed, along with the other downloads that were reported to have malware, spyware or trojans.
