Project time again for my college sociology class. This class requires us to do a number of projects that involve surveying 20 people on different subjects. I thought it would be more interesting to ask people online given the wider variety of people than I come into contact with on a daily basis, especially for this subject.
So...the project...
Do you believe gay couples should be allowed to marry? Also, do you think gay couples should be allowed to adopt children? It would be helpful if you could include your age, gender, and ethnicity as well (I do hope people realize it's impossible to do anything to you using this small amount of personal information, it's not like I'm asking for your name and address)
Thanks in advance for your opinions!

I won't be very responsive for a while as I'm moving and wont have internet at my new house until thursday at best (and maybe not even then.)Yes and yes. Marriage is a contract between two people and a government, if churches/temples/mosques don't want to have ceremonies, that is totally up to them. But it is unfair to disallow that contract between two people because of a religious bias. For adoption, yes. In the states where it is legal to adopt, I know they have more stringent rules for a same-sex couple to adopt as opposed to the different-sex couples. Where I will differ on most other people is I believe
those standards should become
everyone's standards. If you're concerned about the children, then that concern should lie with all the children and not just those going to certain couples.
24 year old, white male.
And since you said you may not be back for a while, you can PM me if you need any other information for your class.
