The huge coincidence that the Mayan calendar date and the Bible code's prediction of Judgment Day are just 11 days apart makes a great metaphor for the sense of urgency that some people feel to change the world. If only we could get that Daniel Generation going that the Mormon patriarchs of a hundred years ago envisioned....

From my personal understanding, 2012 doesn't necessarily mean we are all going to die.

I've seen so many shows and read so many articles that it's really just all bullshit meant to scare the s**t out of you.

If 2012 was a year that had immense meaning, I would say that it doesn't mean the world is going to explode. It means that something is going to happen that will change everything that we know, good or bad. In essence, the end of the world, means the end of THIS age of whatever zodiac sign we're in, and a beginning of a NEW one.

Maybe someone makes a break through with technology that changes the way the world interacts with each other.

Or we are zerged by zombies, which is also a great alternative. Shame the closest mall from me is 2 hours away, I'd make it my SANCTUARY. surprised

People are getting really stupid with 2012. There is actually scientific proof on the date which includes the alignments of the stars. The Mayans were known for their intelligence with astronomy. It is not the end of the world in the sense of death but the ideology that things will change. If people look at the world things are already changing. People really need to research all concepts before coming to idiotic conclusions on both sides of the argument. This is not some crazy man creating this idea. This idea been around for thousands and thousands of years. This is nothing new and people been researching this for centuries. So, really people do research.

I am not saying it will be the end of the world... I am just saying this is not some random date like everyone is stating or some bogus idea. It could be but from the countless research I did it could have multiple meanings.

I agree with you on this one, Usagi. But I'm gonna add to this and say that the world (civilization) will end if people see the change and think it means an ending, thus causing civilization to fall, like the Roman empire.
When it ends, I will miss Gaia though.

I most definently do thik that the world is going to end in 2012 simpl becuase now they have more proff thenever i mean cmon dont u see the simple clues starring you right in the face i truely d think the world i going to end its been around for a very long time the scientists are sayng the sun is getting hotter each day and even the ancient mayan calanders have predicted events that were going to happen hundreds of years in the future and out of nowhere the calander ends mysteriously on 2012 and even in the revelations of the bible it states the same if you go to church the oastors and opeople are saying the lord is coming soon you think its just theory and myth keep on thinking that way all im saying is i definantly think the world is going to end this time

The Arctic ice is certainly melting faster than previous predictions. Continuance of that trend means clathrate melting and an accelerated rate of global warming. Some now living will see the end of most of humanity, if not all of humanity....
