Ahh, you and I are in the same boat.
Okay, is there something you enjoy that involves people?
(me personally, I would love to travel the world with nothing but a camera and film happy people being happy.)

See that's where I'm stuck. I have terrible social anxiety, so my options are very limited.

I honestly though gene therapy was just as simple as injecting the proper DNA sequences.
I always figured gene therapy would be most effective on a fetal level because immune systems wouldn't be nearly as developed, but like full grown people were pretty hopeless for when it came to gene therapy.

We just have a lot of history and people get mad when we get back together.
But I love him and he loves me and we're saving to buy an apartment and everyone needs to deal with it. mad

That's true. In a fetus, the immune system would be weaker, however, that could also be problematic. Currently, I think that gene therapy is being tested using viruses. If gene therapy fails in an adult human, the corrected DNA simply isn't obtained. The person might also get a few of the symptoms of the virus that was used. If scientists could somehow get rid of the symptoms from the viruses and make the viruses' DNA invalid, then perhaps it might work. At the testing stages gene therapy is at right now, it would be very risky and most likely unethical. People may think that gene therapy or DNA altering isn't right and that only God has that power. Many Catholics (please excuse my bias), including most of my friends are completely against gene therapy (and stem cells). People may have even stronger feelings if the gene therapy is directed towards unborn babies... confused Science has many critics, no?

I can hang around certain people, but I don't talk. I spend most of my time in my room, or at least by myself.

I'm assuming they use viruses because viruses self replicate?
The idea kind of reminds me of "I Am Legend" the whole idea of taking cancer cells and making them work for the body. Just a thought and I could probably just google this but is there any testing of Gene Therapy of people with say HIV/AIDs? As I understand it weakens the immune system which while the negative effects would probably outweigh the positive, but it seems like a much more viable human adult test subject.
Yes science does have a lot of criticism, I'm all for the advancement of man through science.
