Before I explain, here is my disclaimer. I don't condone or support murder, rape, child molestation, child pornography or any crime for that matter.

That being said, people pay for their mistakes through the legal system and they shouldn't be banned from a website (especially one like Gaia) based on actions someone took in the past that had absolutely nothing to do with your website or it's members. Saying you have been convicted of murder or indecent liberties or rape all would violate your posted rules and be ban-able but all have obviously been taken care of from a legal standpoint.

The most horrible thing posted there is the one on *****. Would you ban someone for being gay? How about having autism? ***** may be bad for you to think about but it is who that person is and is unchangeable, there is nothing illegal about it and there is now help being offered to those to help suppress their feelings so they don't do anything illegal.

I hope you understand that there are, as I have mentioned, items you are saying you will ban people for that are not illegal and it makes your website seem to direct hate towards specific people. I am considering donating all my items and gold and leaving Gaia for this. I don't want to be associated with hate mongering bigots. I have a form of autism, what if you direct your ******** hate towards me because of it?

***** itself isn't illegal, but I believe it was implied that child molestation goes with ***** that were the case, why would they have separated the words the way they did. Why would it have been necessary to purposefully distinguish in the sentence d "or that you're a ***** and/or child molester." Clearly they know the difference yet still wish to ban people who make themselves known. While I don't believe it's a large group they are attacking I still believe it's wrong. Again they could be getting help to control themselves, but even if they are they could never be honest on this site without getting banned. They act as if a ***** must molest children as if every straight person just rapes whomever they desire and every homosexual person does the same. It is ridiculous to suggest. I think that a ***** would have a harder time controlling themselves then somebody who isn't however that is only because most people can act freely on their impulses without breaking the law, and that doesn't mean they all do. Laws are not meant to protect people from their thoughts or desires they are to protect people from others acting on them. It isn't illegal to desire to kill most people but it is illegal to kill them and their are many situations where a normal person would want someone dead but they usually control themselves.

Even if it wasn't posted here, a ***** wouldn't declare themselves anyways, due to being a massively small minority and having a huge public against them.

Even if it wasn't posted here, a ***** wouldn't declare themselves anyways, due to being a massively small minority and having a huge public against them.

I agree that most would never want to tell a lot of people, but what if someone did? Maybe it would never happen, but maybe it would. The Internet is pretty anonymous and maybe one person one day might want to try to share his/her thoughts with people they don't know. Maybe Gaia isn't the place to do that but it also shouldn't be the place to ban it.

Most people on Gaia have gone through puberty, since Gaia does not want to deal with parental interaction to avoid COPPA lawsuits. A very small age group of potential prepubescence is left, the 13-14 range and as pictures are generally not used of the actual person a ***** would not see someone that they would be sexually attracted to and would not even have to consider accepting urges.

Fourth, allowing rehabilitated criminals is not a huge risk of laws being broken on the site. While allowing crime would be stupid (i.e threats, solicitation of murder etc.), a forum such as Gaia has no place to determine that the legal system has failed at rehabilitation to such a degree that the rehabilitated need to be banned from Gaia to prevent rampant cyber crime in forums.

You're being a bit too aggressive about this.

For your first point, despite what the rules say, there are children here under 13. The website could be used to connect the two individuals for a meeting, which could get the website sued. As for pornography, I've never heard of a child being prosecuted for giving away pictures of themselves.

I'm not saying people with a mental illness should be banned, I'm saying that people with this one in this environment should be. It's simply not worth the trouble for such an absolutely tiny minority.

And unless you have thorough knowledge on ***** as a whole, it's completely possible they'll have the urge to seek out said pictures from people.

Lastly, Gaia hasn't made any comments regarding if the legal system has failed, but having ex-cons on the site isn't generally something parents want their kids around, or meet, as I've mentioned above.

It doesn't matter that there are children under 13 on here for this. They should and will eventually be banned when their age comes out. Gaia risks being sued just by their presence, other activity surrounding them it a secondhand matter.

If a ***** were to use a site to seek out individuals or even to masturbate, he would most likely choose a site that has picture uploads such as facebook or myspace. If I have trouble finding a twenty one year old programmer interested in Go, I am sure someone would have trouble finding a person willing to admit they have not gone through puberty and being able to get pictures for proof.

About meeting up, any site could be used to meet up. It is however extremely difficult to meet up with someone who has not gone through puberty. I don't know about you or your friends but my friends and I would never let a prepubescent child go anywhere unattended. Even more difficult than that would be locating a target that might not have such caring parents and then finding out that they don't and exploiting that. You would have better chances playing the lottery.

As for the parents opposing ex-cons on this website. Again, myspace and facebook have ex cons and they include pictures. And every parent I know is much more comfortable having their child on those websites then here. You generally don't see posts on facebook asking "Which of the guys should I ********?" or "Can you guess how loose my p***y is?" One trip to the chatterbox and normal parents would turn their children away.

As for Gaia making comments on the legal system? I never said that, what I said was that it is implied by their action of taking criminal rehabilitation and assuming it fails so much that they must ban them.

I am also aware that the rule talks about unreported crimes. That is not the issue, that should be a rule as it causes problems legally to have crime on your site. The problem is that the phrase "I served 10 years in prison for killing a man." is bannable by these rules.

Lastly I don't think my posts are aggressive in the least. I am speaking out against the hatred this website is perpetuating and running a website as a hate group is pretty looked down upon by parents, no matter the group hated.

I agree with most of what you said except for the bit about them starting to discriminate you for having a form of autism since that's not closely related to any criminal offenses. Anyone saying otherwise is either looking for a scapegoat and/or doesn't really understand people with autism.

I trust Gaia Online not to make that kind of mistake.
