So my little brother is a Naruto geek, he's always watching it 24/7. I gave him a bad time about it and he finally asked me to watch it one day, so I did. I was half way through one episode until I was like, "WTF!?" One quote got me...

Alright, ninjas had jobs, and sometimes they had to kill people to accomplish that. They hold their Honor by succeeding. Typically Ninjas didn't kill people, the was something romantisized about them.
