and yes. They were my first holes, which I had pierced as an infant. I started stretching them myself when I was 14, and I'm 7/8's as of today. One size away from an inch.

It hurts a bit, yes. But most kids who stretch their ears nowadays don't do it right, and they use tapers and blow their ears out very quickly. They're idiots who just want to go bigger, and look cool to match the other idiots who bought their stretching kit at hottopic for too much. They don't bother doing it right, or learning about it.
Blow outs hurt quite a lot, and they're very unsightly.
I stretch my ears with electrical tape, which is a slow process, but much less painless, and much better for my ears. I take my time, so they're healthy.
