Welcome to Gaia! ::

Just saying, I wouldn't really take her all that seriously about anything she says including the word "wicca", okay? Right when she said that wicca started in ireland, that was the end of it for me.

well, she just explained herself didnt she?

And now that she did, I'm of a mind to tear my ******** eyeballs out.

and now i am very interested because she said it was from irish decent, and i have irish heritage in me.

That doesn't mean a god damn thing. Culture is not inherited by blood, it's taught by hand, by word of mouth, by community. I've got a little Irish in me too, but I'm not gonna claim to know the customs of people I have never even ******** met in my entire life, especially when the customs being mentioned aren't open to outsiders.

Wow, way to ruin my thread

i didn't say anything about me knowing the customs. I said that i have a lot to learn, so dont yell at me. I would like to know a bit more about my families background

you need to get out of here if your going to argue like that. yes, its good to argue. but it seems to me like its a sport to you.
Arguing tends to happen on these threads, Scuba. wink Usually when someone claims to be Wiccan, or when someone brings up the Celts. If someone brings up "Celtic Wicca" or something similar, well, you'd just better hide behind something heavy. wink

We try, where we can, to limit the spread of misinformation and help share decent sources.

It's apparently what I do best.

And I said that you made such a claim? Where?

You can't yell over the internet. It's physically impossible.

No kidding! xd You shoulda seen me as a newbie. I trusted everything I read. And I read Ravenwolf. So yeah.... it was pretty bad xd Don't be sorry. You've done well so far.

We have a tendency to swear. It's just how we roll. wink We don't mean anything by it for the most part. I'll try to bite my tongue here, though, if it bothers you mrgreen
all right people! just forget it already! someone gave some wrong information, its not the end of the world.

can we please change the subject?!
Sure.

I think you mentioned on another thread that you worship (or revere or something) some form of moon and sun spirits or deities?

Is this a form of animism (the concept of trees, stones, and other things having a soul or a spirit) or is this something a bit different?

I'm off to bed, but OP, I just wanted to stop in and say you totally win the at the internets for knowing what Wicca actually is. Please, please don't be swayed by this "Earth Wicca" stuff. We need more people like you around. xp

yes, i believe in a male and female higher spirit and they live in the moon and sun. i dont know why, but i feel embarassed saying this, because i dont know another person who believes it too.

and kinda. i think that all living things have spirits. Not rocks though.

i wont be, promise ^^
even though i still want to know what the Celtic ties are to magic. i'll have to look it up or something
blessed be
I only know one person IRL that has similar beliefs to me.

Sometimes you do feel like you're all alone in your beliefs. Especially since pagans tend to have different beliefs...
okay well no she did state that she was going into earth based wiccan so that was stated out of text

and no ireland did not start wiccan or anything like that but it was started by paganism, druidism and other beliefs that goes back over three thousand years ago in europe and possibly to Paleolithic people who believed in the hunter god and goddess of fertility. and each had taken on its own way of doing each religion. but i do retact the faerie wicca thing i got two differnt things, and confused them, earth wiccan is celtic, while faerie is on the fae...yea sorry about it that was my mistake and i apologies for it. but i stated that type of wiccan came from ireland which was where it was more likley to be found.

ill also say that most people tend to do their own thing in any religion anyway, which why many are solitary in wicca wiccan pagan beliefs.

but the thing is i dont really care what any of you think about what i have said and yes some of it sounds weird which is how i usually say things in a way that doesnt make since so what thats me, and if you wanna make fun of my college class you can talk to my teacher since he normally does the same thing to about things i write down. and im done for now, not only did i get to do my research i got an insider to the fighting of religious begingins, beliefs, and rifts from all views. so i killed two birds with one stone.
