Do you analyze and over think a lot? I do .-.

How do you deal or get yourself to stop being afraid and analytical.

Find something to focus on besides thought. Music, maybe, or counting your own breath. Exercise somehow. Draw, paint, whatever. Something that is NOT thinking. Since it should be obvious that more thinking will not cure excessive thinking.

Not that.

Why not?

A person would only do it whilst in a state of agitation; when their breathing is raised and a cause for further anxiety.
Just try to think Positive

Ah. I was assuming that the person would control their breathing so it was even and deep, not frantic, shallow, and hurried. But that's just me.

Even and deep is a problem; a state of high anxiety has a large oxygen requirement, it is not a good thing to provide.
I over think a lot as well, and right now im going through a state of an anxiety in which online somewhere it basically says its all in my head, it keeps me from sleeping only, and i get a butterfly feeling, 1st you have to figure out what is bothering you and you have to think; what can i do to fix it, secondly, you have to at least TRY to not think about it, and thirdly, if all else fails, just play a game, read, play gaia/computer, until you get tired and then lay down and go 2 sleep smile
Hopeit helps biggrin

I wish I could sympathize with you, but I do not normally overanalyze things. ;^^

Wait... Hm. Well, I'm a bit supersitious. So when I'm in a paranoid mood. I think about EVERYTHING, and this will send me off on a rant filled with obscene and improbable outcomes. Something that really sets my friends into fits.

Unfortunately, yes.

It may sound silly or simple enough, but catching yourself in the act of thinking about analytical or obsessive thoughts and telling yourself to just stop works wonders. It takes time and practice to catch yourself but with time it becomes easier to do so and you begin to realize there's no need to over think or fear things that really can't hurt you.

What is it you tend to over think most?

Others perception of me. Do I look stupid? How ugly am I to them? What would they think if I did do blah or blah?

It rules most things about me, like I end up dressing plainish because I don't want to look dumb wearing something that stands out. Sort of silly really, does it really matter if strangers reject me?
