Do you analyze and over think a lot? I do .-.

How do you deal or get yourself to stop being afraid and analytical.
One simply has to get used to not being in a state of anxiety. Relaxation exercises work wonders as does education.
I over think A LOT. Sometimes I can distract myself, but other times, the anxiety is so strong that I can't really do a thing about it.
I do, purely for entertainment purposes. I like to see how far into my brain I can get without starting to wonder why I'm not coming up for air.

But to curb your incessantly self-indulgent analytical ways, understand your innate tendency to weigh potential losses more heavily than potential gains. This is a perfectly natural survival mechanism, and right beyond survival is security, which you seem to be lacking. So, throw caution to the wind and make the choice right now to quit being a perfectionist.

As General Patton said, a good plan today beats a great plan next week.

If only it was that easy.

working on it.
1. I realized that the world does not revolve around me and that most people are too busy thinking about themselves to really encode any deeper meanings in their daily interactions.

Whatever you think is there, generally isn't.

2. Besides, taking things at face value works just fine. As long as you're polite and kind, you can't ever be in the wrong. Other people's hidden malice is immature assholery on their part and absolutely not your issue.

I'm still working on that and it it hard. It has gotten so bad to the point that I have blacked out. I usually blare music. I don't know what your tastes are but I use The Vitamin String Quartet. Pretty much an artist you can think of they do string versions of. One band I use as an example since most everyone knows them is Linkin Park they do great versions of their stuff.

If you continue to view it from your overanalytical perspective, then it never will be easy, and you will be perpetually "working" on it.. That's why you have to do it now. It's not easy, it's not difficult. It just IS. Any further analysis or advice would simply pander to that which you seek to remove.

Whats that saying:
" Ppl would care a lot less about what ppl thought about them, if they knew how little they are thought about "
Or something along those lines.

Very true, it's been getting better at not caring as much, I just think I need more time to fully get over it. I have been like this since as long as I can remember. Just lately it has been really holding me back.

Find something to focus on besides thought. Music, maybe, or counting your own breath. Exercise somehow. Draw, paint, whatever. Something that is NOT thinking. Since it should be obvious that more thinking will not cure excessive thinking.

Not that.
Having a healthy diet and exercise would be good places to start - frequently not what people want to hear.

I also garden, which mixes physical labor and taps into my creative side.

Get a dog and be a responsible owner to it, that means walking that dog, getting outside daily and having companionship when anxiety makes social interactions difficult.

I think addressing that state as often as possible requires a degree of mindfulness, which has to be learned and practiced.
I am highly analytical to the point where I must analyze every detail, and do get anxiety attacks.
I received treatment for months, which consisted of my being hooked up to a machine and staring at a screen which showed my heart rate, and the goal was to lower my heart rate. This worked because my overanalytical thought process and competetiveness could analyze that if my brain slowed my heart rate down enough, I would "win". Of course, if you lose your concentration, your heart rate will spike, which causes a bit of anxiety because you don't want to "lose". This is good because then you have to stop your anxiety in order to start "winning" again and get the percentage rate of a good pace for your heart back up. razz I spent 2 or 3 months doing that for a half hour every few days (you can practice the excercise by yourself, it's just that the screen helped me focus because there was solid proof and recordings) before I got a 98% in the "good" zone.
Please note that I also have AvPD and suffer from severe depression.
