There's some truth in this. My first console was the PS1 so I'm used to 3D games, and as a result I suck at most 2D games that aren't platformers. Especially the 2D FFs which makes me sad since I love the series.

No, I'm sorry but you're just creating an unrealistic argument with people here, because you're obviously not being clear about your statement whatsoever, despite the numerous attempts and angles we've been going at trying to figure out this so-called "POINT" you've been trying to give us, so there's really no point in continuing this. Names should be easy to give, since people seem so adamant that they exist to a great degree, but nobody can give one.

Part of my point about people being jaded by the newer, flashier games. I loved 8-bit games, and I STILL play some to this day.

Miyazaki, some new games take just as much skill as older games. Play something now that was really hard for you then, it'll seem so much easier now.

You want a hard game? Then I dare you to pick up Bangai-O Spirits for the DS, or the original Bangai-O for the Dreamcast. And guess what, both those games, have no cheat codes. So you can't say you picked it up and played it without dying once. Ask anyone that has played either game, and they will tell you the same thing:
Fun as hell, but even harder as hell. Even the veterans of this game will say it's a major challenge.
