I dont know. It depends on the player. Ninja Gaiden Sigma is a bit hard to me in some ways, that doesn't mean it will be hard to you. A hard game just depends on the player. We could sit here and list off tons of games but that doesn't mean any of them would be the game title you are looking for.
Exactly.
That's the same thing I've been saying since page 1.
I don't know why people are arguing it without providing proof.

Uh lies, you take someone who actually knows what the hell they are doing in Mortal Kombat and compare to someone who doesn't know and then come back to me.

I thought we established that skill made a difference? And it would be kinda unfair to have someone with lots of skill in the game against someone with no skill whatsoever. there is also a difference playing a game against AI and playing against a real person...

Depends how the AI is.

Sometimes they'll do only one move or block half of the time.

Fighting games have a really odd learning curve. Unless it's brutal like KoF 2000 or even 98.

It all depends on the players skill. Even someone who knows what they are doing can get their a$$ handed to them in a fighting game. But, the players skill matters in the game. Like I said before, a person with skill against a person with no skill isnt a good comparison to a game being hard. It will be hard to the person with no skill playing someone who knows wtf they are doing but that is because they probably havent played as much as the other person. Going against other people online doesnt mean the game is hard. It just means you arent very good against people online.

Sometimes it's not players skill. Luck is also involved. I don't know how many times I died on M. Bison on Street Fighter 2 Turbo and I knew what I was doing.

I just got lucky.

Yea that was a bad example by me. sweatdrop

sometimes its luck. other times its just because your timing was off
I still can't understand why completing a game = "not hard" neutral

Would that mean games with no ending is a hard game to you, since no one "universally" can theoretically "beat" them? Tetris? Geometry Wars? Asteroids? Kind of confused...
I'll admit that some of the "new crop" of gamers aren't as good as the "veterans" but uh... duh? You'll gradually get better at anything the more you practice, and someone who's "bad" now could kick your a** in a few years.

The only thing that really pisses me off about the newer generation of gamers is that they're jaded to the flashiness of the modern games. A new game isn't exactly "better" then an older game, it's just the graphics, and how much more they can fit into a game now then they used to. I always heard from people about how awesome Halo is, and how crappy classic games are. First of all, Halo is just the latest reincarnation of Doom. FPS games really haven't changed a whole lot other then the visuals. Second, a game is called "classic" for a reason.
Games were harder back then because we were either younger or inexperienced, they were the first that came out, it was a new thing...Now I can replay old games I finished a long time ago (and had so much difficulty) and beat them without a problem...

Games are not Easier
IT's the gamer that is more experienced or a veteran.

The only way we could prove which one is harder is take a bunch of inexperienced people and make them play the hardest games on both generation...even then it depends on the person..

I suck hard at FPS, never played them, and my friends beat me without a prob., but when those friends, that are good at FPS but haven't played the original SSB, play me at Brawl, I win

What would that prove? That the person who knows what they're doing would have an easier time than the person who doesn't.
Which means that the game isn't definitely hard.
Which is what I've been saying.

I think the phrase is, all games can be Hard.
Quite certainly. Depending on the player, they may find a game more difficult than other people.

Yes, exactly, it's the gamer more then the game. Some games are harder then others, yes, but it's the game itself, and not that it's old or new.

Take someone who's never played a game, have them play any game old or new, and they'll more then likely die a few times within the first thirty minutes.

Since when does "losing once" equal "hard"?
Feel free to try and prove me wrong though.
There's a reason why nearly 20 pages have passed and I haven't been yet.

Seems like someone's afraid to admit defeat, or trying to avoid it without creating an argument as to how example'd games can be "easy"....
