Welcome to Gaia! ::

Hello! I'm going to be starting up an RPG related to magic and other fantasy stuff and am looking for recruits! If you want details, it's based around elemental magic, such as ice, fire, water, etc. There's gonna be a whole lot of other cool things such as shape shifting and super epic weapons. The elements you can choose from are earth, water, ice, wind, electricity(or energy), fire, and life(more rather, summoning of creatures, plants, and healing). Anyone interested?

What would we do?
So the elements are FIRE, WATER, AIR AND DIRT, so would it inconvenience anyone if my power/weapons were magnets?
What sort of gameplay would it feature? And what engine do you plan to use? Or perhaps you're using a custom one?

Any concept art or tech demos?

In the RP, people who can utilize magic, known in that world as "Reliks", can use magic of 7 different elemental types, but only one of those. We would be fighting grotesque monsters, sinister villains, and sometimes each other. Or, pretty much anything else you like. In the beginning,however, we would be attending a school of sorts to learn the basics of our abilities.

no gameplay, really, just writing it out and the such, but there is definitely art involved, such as designing your character, their weapon and animal.

Interesting idea...I you were to choose earth, then you could create metals, but you'd have to be pretty strong and know what you're doing. As for magnetizing them, you would require alot of electricity to change the polarity of your metals, which is lucky since FoxoftheSnow is choosing electric. It's possible.

^ Flawless counter-trolling. Post -> Tipped.
Another thing I should probably say is that, in the RPG, the Reliks are somewhat weaker than the regular humans, but you could choose to be anyone, a Relik, or a regular human.

Another thing...About the weapons and items that you can use, their kind of like your being turned into that weapon or item. they can be able to do a bunch of nifty things. If anyone has heard of Guilty Crown, that would be a perfect example of what it is.

If you're serious about developing a game, it's important to focus on the gameplay first. Without the means to explore your fantasy, the fantasy itself becomes meaningless.

And note, programming is seriously hard. I've been learning it for years, and I'm still kind of a novice with the technical stuff. I don't want to be a downer, but your ideas aren't going to see any sort of life for many years. If you're dedicated to them, start learning each of the parts that goes into making a game.

Perhaps the Unity engine might be a good place to start. Low learning curve, yet fairly robust.

Umm...I think you're getting the wrong idea. I'm not trying to create a video game or anything. justa simple RP that you see around Gaia. on threads. Like this.
