She is a very talented artist for a 13-14 year old girl, and I believe she has great potential as an illustrator, she has improved greatly over the last year. biggrin

she has a nice sense of color and composition for someone her age. Sadly, this doesn't make her good. it just means that she has put more time into drawing and art than most 13 year olds do. And her art isn't good in the least yet.

Okay, I can see where you're coming from and I don't want to start an arguement. Could you please clarify how her 'her art isn't good in the least yet' though, please? I just want to know.

She doesn't yet have an understanding of anatomy, proportion, her values aren't there, she hasn't quite gotten a handle on actual color (so her colors are very fanciful, but they aren't exactly what is needed to build a foundation in color theory) She's a beginning artist, she is weak in all areas.

For now though, most of what she has done isn't all that great and I agree with Annacracker.

It all just looks like things that are kept in your first sketch book or two, while you're still feeling around for your grip on colour, anatomy, composition, etc.

I certainly wouldn't say it's bad, for her age.

But even for her age, it still isn't good.

I like her use of colour. The more atmospheric pieces are the best.

Well I guess she's good in a way that she has her own style. One look of her arts and you'll know that it's from loz-girl. Especially the color and the faint sketches, they're marvelous.
But the drawings of people itself... kind of lame. And for a 13 yr. old, she could do better than that. The drawings look like they've been sketched by a seven yr.old and yet their colors are like that of a teenager. Pretty balanced, I say.
Lots and lots more practices on her drawings, and she'll be good to go smile
