I actually admire how you lurk ED.

Yeah, I don't have opinion on gays, god or abortion. But once in a blue moon, a thread will bring something out of me.

I take that as a compliment.

@ Deathwish: It popped into my head one day; I couldn't resist.

@ Mei: I'm not sure what you're saying; could you clarify?

@ Stuch: I'm waiting to see if any of my articles won awards. And not to show off, but I also hold a position with the school's Literary Art Magazine. I edit quite a bit of writing when I'm bored.

But I have yet to hear anything about why Twilight is good.

Both genres, teen and romance, are not known for their depth or for fantastic writing. Teen and romance books are written for entertainment purposes only.

I agree, but there is usually some part of the main character that can be related to. Bella is quiet, suicidal, self conscious, hardly confident, and oblivious to her convenient beauty.

I can relate to her in some ways. Once people started going "Twilight Sucks" i decided to reread it and see if I remembered wrong. I didn't. There are much much worse books out there and the romantic in me likes twilight. I am also a reader of fanfiction so that could also have something to do with it. Don't think I read crappy books though. Thought it is true I usually don't read classics I read enough to know what good writing is.

I got dragged to see the film and from as far as I could gather, Bella had no personality whatsoever and thought this was so any teenage girl could pretend they were her.

All it seemed she had to do was not be afraid of vegetarian vampires, high speeds, and glitter.

Also, why is it that apparently the dominant two feelings in vampires are thirst for blood and lust?
I wouldn't call Stephine's "vampires" THE vampire. Even though vampires don't exist, she still raped the way they used to be. They were awesome waaaay back. I think she wants to make "perfect" vampires.

Because otherwise they wouldn't be sexy.

Sex appeal comes from physical appearance, demeanor, and mind. Just because you're horny all the time doesn't make you sexy.

I stayed because the thread became about me for a minute or two. I am but human, with an ego.

The movie sucked pure and simple. The person who played Bella sucked as her character and even Rob sucked as Edward at times. the book was way better than the movie.

You'd get along PERFECTLY with my boyfriend, brotherX. Look at his profile, and his ego is shown magnificently. x]

I'm re-reading Lolita just now. The first thirty pages scare me, because I remember when I first read it I agreed with Humbert on some aspects of nymphets. It would appear that the ****** in me - as well as the reader generally - likes Lolita.
@ Deathwish: I agree with her attempt at making them perfect. They aren't "the vampire," but I was only talking about the Twilight vampires. Have you noticed that the only way they can die is by being ripped to pieces and burned, but while the pieces are in the same pile, they don't pull themselves together?

@ Mei: I can relate to her at some points, and I do appreciate the romance, but if I met a person with her personality who does nothing to maintain her friendships but remains good friends with people nonetheless, I would swear it was some demonic creature or something.

Every author has a different view on vampires. I personally like Laurell K Hamiltons take on vampires the best.

It happens. I have friends who do nothing to maintain our friendship and yet i'm still friends with them. There has to be something really special for me to still be friends with them though.

I appreciate people who have their own spin on classics like vampires, but these sparkly ones... They do put a black mark on the vampires of literature.
