Both genres, teen and romance, are not known for their depth or for fantastic writing. Teen and romance books are written for entertainment purposes only.

I agree, but there is usually some part of the main character that can be related to. Bella is quiet, suicidal, self conscious, hardly confident, and oblivious to her convenient beauty.

I got dragged to see the film and from as far as I could gather, Bella had no personality whatsoever and thought this was so any teenage girl could pretend they were her.
