My point of view is that the Twilight series is literary trash. Before anyone tries to hunt me down and kill me (good luck, by the way), I'd like to know why people disagree. I've read all the published books several times. I used to like the series, but then it disgusted me. Keep in mind that I'm only talking about the books! Now, I'm also a writer of many forms (high school journalist, poet with published works, and full length fiction novels that are unpublished but being edited by myself) and I've researched elements present in many books, styles of writing, and above all else cliches. I own a book called How Not to Write a Novel, and with everything I've learned, I can't see why Twilight is a good series. Please try to convince me.

Girls probably only like it because they call Edward hott, and his abuse "True Love". If I had a boyfriend that treated me like that, I'd move far away from him. Honestly, I think Stephine Meyer has quite a bit of relationship issues...

@ Mei: I'm not sure what you're saying; could you clarify?

@ Stuch: I'm waiting to see if any of my articles won awards. And not to show off, but I also hold a position with the school's Literary Art Magazine. I edit quite a bit of writing when I'm bored.

But I have yet to hear anything about why Twilight is good.

I admit the romance of it is a little sweet, but if you consider everything besides the romance, it's cliche after cliche with unrelatable characters with hardly any backstory to most of them.

Both genres, teen and romance, are not known for their depth or for fantastic writing. Teen and romance books are written for entertainment purposes only.
