Death and Misery

Faith always molds your way of life. Faith in a deity is far easier than faith in your neighbor as well. What you do not know about your neighbor you know about the deity: Their Nature.

Come now, time is short.

No, time is up. I have business. Excuse me.

And how can you know the nature of a deity which cannot or will not prove it even exists in the first place?

That's what historical documents are for.
The bible is not a historical document.

Even though other historical documents back it? Even some atheists will say Jesus was real. Whether He was God or not is the debated topic.
It is true in that is is a document that existed historically, but most of the accounts of events were written hundreds of years after they 'occurred', and nothing in it is admissible proof of God.

So if I wrote a paper for history class it's automatically invalid because it's written much later than when it actually occurred?

The bible is not a history report, and it was not written as a 'historical account' so much as a collection of parables - not factual by definition - and what amounts to not much more than propaganda. It is hardly what you would call a reliably factual account.

Even with the internet, instant communication, and the like, most 'factual accounts' of events that happened moments ago are rarely completely accurate. Things don't look good for the bible.

Do you believe everything you read?

ok i no about a quarter of the earths people are religous, but how many of them actually know if they're going to Heaven when they die? i'm just so sick of people saying bad things about others that are strong Christians. scream its happened to me before also, when i was in 7th grade people made fun of me just because i brought my Bible to school. so anyway how many people on here know that they're saved? if you're not i can help, just send me a message or something. i can also answer any questions like if the rumors about 2012 r true (which there not) so yeah just send a message if u dont want to write in this forum.
Well technically speaking NO ONE "knows" they are being saved.
The bible in fact pretty much states that no one can even know that god exists, let alone that heaven or their future "salvation" as it's put is either. This is because the bible specifically states that a person must have faith, and faith by definition is believing something that you don't know to be true. That said if you must have faith in god you think he's likely real but you don't know for certain and therefor can't know whats going to happen to you when you die.

I, personally, have become agnostic after tiring of to many hypocrites within religions. Mind you I met some wonderful people, alas it only takes one or two to really drive that sense of hypocrisy into ones heart with a steak. There's just to many questions and not enough answers in religion for me to put full faith into it, now if it is real that's fantastic, I feel that if I live a good life then god, should he actually exist and be the all forgiving being he's preached to be, wouldn't damn someone to hell for simply being skeptical in a world where skepticism = basic human nature. If not, I still will have led a decent life and not wasted a bunch of time listening to fire and brimstone or condemning others.

1. Lesarian is nothing. Either you are spelling it very wrong, or you are a german lesbian from lesarion.de
2. PAGANISM is not a goddamn religion. It is a blanket term invented by christians to describe people who worship non-christian gods.
3. This has nothing to do with the topic being discussed.

Okay, WAY more than a quarter of the world is religious... You're a Christian? Don't act like your religion is being soooo mocked and opressed. Christianity is still the most prominent religion in the world, and the US.

I believe in God the same way I believe in space aliens: I believe they exist but I don't believe they interact with us. God gave us free will, so we need to fix our own problems instead of waiting for God to do it. I know nothing about God. I will not claim to know much about God, seeing as I've never met God nor do I believe God has ever spoken to me. I do believe, though, that if God truly is righteous and merciful, the good people, regardless of belief or lack thereof, will not recieve a form of divine punishment. That's just a belief. I do not know if it is true and neither does anyone else. That's why I hate it when people go around saying "God wants this and God wants that, or you'll go to Hell!". How do you know what God wants? What makes your claim so much more valid than anyone else's?

I used to believe in God. But now I don't. I don't see the point really, we all argue over what his will is but we really don't know to be honest what his will actually is.

And the Mayan 2012 is bullshit. Their calendar actually continues one.

I don't believe in God in such of way that he has power over me--I believe him to be a badly written character that's ridiculously overpowered.

My love problems are halfway solved. . .

I'm not going to put all of my energy into this one because I'm getting tired of seeing these. But a Christian's work is, most of the time, never done.

So. . . God is real. He loves you. He loves me. And. . . . . . . atheists are bad XD Jk Jk

Wish me luck everyone. . . I'm still slightly out of it. ninja

I believe in Jesus Christ, my Savior. If you do too, and aren't scared to admit it, copy and paste this into your sig. NOW.

I remember in my 8th grade year I saw a male 7th grader with a Bible. He had a crush on me, and was upset I didn't date him because he carried around a Bible to class. When he asked me why, I told him that I don't date Bible thumpers.
