Hot Topic is a lot cheaper, and while it's still obnoxiously trendy, it's better suited for us common folk.
And I refuse to wear anything that is pretty much about status.... That's what Hollister and Ambercombie are. Overpriced clothes worn by yuppies.
Seriously, if you shop at these places you should probably be killed. It's disgusting. Spending so much on a ******** status symbol while people in this country are starving to death. It's disgusting.
Yeah, because dropping $60 for Tripp jeans at Hot Topic isn't nearly as bad as dropping $60 for a pair of jeans at Hollister or Abercrombie.
But 10-15 bucks for a shirt is much better than the 20-30 I've seen at the other places.'
Plus, they got a great clearance section. Not saying I shop there. Just saying it's more common folk friendly.
I'll agree with the latter statement, but not the former. Hot Topic has some great clearance prices, but they can also price some things atrociously. At a Hot Topic I went to in New York, a "vintage T-shirt" with a Duran Duran album cover on it was almost $80.
Furthermore, your previous statement of
"Seriously, if you shop at these places you should probably be killed. It's disgusting. Spending so much on a ******** status symbol while people in this country are starving to death. It's disgusting." is absolutely absurd.
Hot Topic is just as corporate as Hollister and Abercrombie, and as I've said, Hot Topic is will to charge people insane prices. $20 for a pair of name-brand torn-up stretchy gloves at Hot Topic that you
could buy at a dollar store and then tear up yourself? $55 for Dickie's jeans at Hot Topic when you could buy the exact same pair and brand at Kohl's for $25?
Hot Topic sells just as many status symbols. The difference is that they're status symbols worn by upper-middle class kids who want to appear like they aren't.
