Sincerely exercise three times a week. Don't just power walk around your neighborhood. Get your heart beating and your lungs breathing, and for god's sake, try toning a muscle or two. The more toned your muscles are, the more fat you burn at rest, which will certainly help with slimming down.
This is only good advice if you are conditioned; if you are not conditioned nothing will change from strenuous exercise. It may actually make the problem worse since your body will attempt to eat more to compensate for the sudden increase in activity. It's why so many regimes fail with negative gains.

That is why you continue to exercise, and not just do it for one week and think you're good as gold. It's also important to respond to that increase in appetite with healthy, lean protein rich foods instead of a rewarding meal from Taco Bell.

@ Cutie: What would you like me to prove or Provide? That fat is bad for you? Or maybe the dangers of Obesity?
There's plenty of information available. Your OP is devoid of any of it; I think that in and of itself shows how serious you really are.

Alright. I will edit them into the OP. Is the CDC and WHO fine, or do I need to find someone more qualified?

Avoid eating in excess of 2000 calories a day, but don't starve yourself either. Have a large breakfast and successively smaller meals throughout the day, making sure to cut down on refined sugars and fatty foods.

If you have a medical complication ("I have a gland problem!" wink then please, please, please consult your doctor.

Alright, fitness in a nutshell, heck yes.

Beautiful! And so concise, I might edit it into the OP...

Yay. Glad you liked it. I'm taking a Personal Health class this term, so it's all very fresh in my mind. blaugh

Actually conditioning doesn't increase these factors, as a matter of fact it's not really exercise; you don't get healthier from conditioning.

Definition
...Exercise is a component of physical activity. The distinguishing characteristic of exercise is that it is a structured activity specifically planned to develop and maintain physical fitness. Physical conditioning refers to the development of physical fitness through the adaptation of the body and its various systems to an exercise program.

Britannica

Conditioning is the stage where you get ready to work, not actually work out, so it's not pushing your body at all. You do a few light exercises like stretches, but show no gains, and the period usually lasts about a month or so before the body is ready to accept the workout.

I wish I had more on kinesiology available to me here.

Your point is becoming increasingly less clear. Are you trying to imply that exercise will not help you lose weight? That simply isn't true.

I'm just saying they should have been there in the first place. I am not going to ridicule you too much on your sources, so the CDC... whoever they are is fine by me.

My point is jumping straight into exercise oft leads to failure, so your suggestion is bad because it does not cover conditioning. In the case of the sedentary overweight there's no way that they will succeed in your suggestion, or rather it's harder for them.

Or you could put a lock on the fridge and make it a really complex number and make it force you to scan several things to the point that you no longer want food.

The Center for Disease control, and then the World Health Organization. I hope they are fine with you...you know, considering they are world wide health authorities. I don't see why i have to cite something as obvious as fat making you a sick unhealthy b*****d.

So then you simply wished I'd be more specific? All you need to do is clarify then that conditioning yourself first will increase the effectiveness of exercise, instead of disagreeing with my post.

I didn't imply that one should jump right into strenuous exercise, only that it should be a maintained goal.

A combination is a great plan. You might need more than one lock though, never underestimate the determination of a fatass. Too bad there aren't many here, we could actually help them...

Actually that's not so far-fetched. The "Food Fund" plan works, where essentially people create an account at their banks and put money in it for food (snacks), they use the debit or whatever to buy what they want, thus enacting a very strong limitation on themselves. This works best if you have a friend or romantic partner who can watch the accounts.

So because you weren't specific I shouldn't have... disagreed? I can't read minds.
