What happens when you decide to take up a political stance without having much of a clue what is really going on and forming half assed conclusions about the world and what should be done?

Let me show you, what Gothzilla here thinks about the Occupy Wall Street happenings, and why it's not the best idea to attack a group without watching the news...

@MsBloodPig Someone requested it a while back, and I finally got a round to making it, and I figured I'd be completely honest.

BEFORE CONTINUING ON, please take a minute to realize that you'll need to have some patience with this forum posting. It means a lot to me, and I'd like to spread some awareness, if any at all.

So, a few days back, I got on Youtube, and noticed that a channel I hadn't seen activity from was back up again, and to this, I immediately click on the video, "GTFO MY WALL STREET YOU HIPPIES", expecting the gold I once remembered the channel putting up before. Ecstatic as all hell, I started to watch, hoping for the best... but not all was to be expected.

I get 2:07 into the video and stopped, jaw dropped, completely stunned... thinking to myself "This is not the man that I once knew". Immediately, I went into full onslaught mode, posting like mad. A conversation ensued back and forth between me and the channel owner... this is what I have for you all today.

Quote:
Dude, I'm surprised you can even take yourself half serious... let's list the BULLSHIT :

1. Goth? What? Dude, I hear Rap music in your video. If anything, you're a ******** Juggalo, and those kids are ******** morons... good job trying to call others stupid.

2. The media has never tried to view them as positive... or at least Fox News has kept from deeming them good people, and they're the worst people to put in charge of the media... you seem right up there alley, which is PRETTY ******** BAD.

MaliceXinXchains 1 day ago

@MaliceXinXchains

Oh, hey, still here, and I'm not done with you.

3. You look and sound like a ******** joke off the bat upon start of the video... HELL, I only got 2 minutes and 7 seconds into your pathetic ******** video, and I already have three really BAD points... at least, so far.

********, this is so bad, I don't even want to try to continue this list, let alone try to hear the rest of your video out, seeing as it's not only painfully pathetic, but I thought you were a smart man once...

MaliceXinXchains 1 day ago

@MaliceXinXchains

It's painful, really, to see that you really have fallen far from grace amongst those youtubers that I actually ******** cared about... I mean, you're IMPOSSIBLE to take serious here, on ANY LEVEL ******** because these first two minutes are so PAINFULLY ******** immature, that what you're addressing is to far out of your reach, and you don't even know it. You're like some ******** 15 year old trailer park juggalo ********, who shoots off at the camera...

MaliceXinXchains 1 day ago

@MaliceXinXchains

Only repeating what his parents talk about over dinner, all the while, taking notes and jonesing for another hit from your Heroine Queen from L.A. And then, after you get all of your notes down, you get all dressed up for youtube in the s**t you stole from Hot Topic, turn on the camera when Mommy and Daddy aren't home, make sure the shitty Dial Up connection you're jacking from your neighbors is stable enough to upload your priceless treasure that is "your rant", and work.

MaliceXinXchains 1 day ago

@MaliceXinXchains

I almost wonder if you even take yourself serious when you throw your trash videos up... please, guy... you're a pathetic little s**t that I have had the MISFORTUNE of wishing that something good was to come from your channel once again, after your TRIUMPHANT RETURN to the interwebz.

Encyclopedia Dramatica was so very ******** correct about you... stupid c**t. I hope you die alone with no one to care that you're gone from this plane of existence.

Die, you insignificant c**t.

MaliceXinXchains 1 day ago

@MaliceXinXchains U MAD, BRO?

RevengeofGothzilla 1 day ago

@RevengeofGothzilla

Yes, actually... extremely ******** pissed that people like you were very smart at one point and now... INSANELY ******** STUPID.

You had that GEM of a video, known to youtube as "Can a Human", and it was so ******** PERFECT, and I was glad I found you, and then, after seeing you come back, I get only two minutes in, and I find that you aren't the same person you once were... you're a ******** poser now, and you really do lack the IQ you once had.

MaliceXinXchains 1 day ago

@RevengeofGothzilla

By the way, memes like that are for little boys who wish to aspire to be more then just some insignificant little boy.

Take a hint.

MaliceXinXchains 1 day ago

@MaliceXinXchains You know, maybe if you don't like my political views, you shouldn't have subscribed to my channel in the first place. I've been a conservative for over 2 years now. I'm sorry if you got the wrong impression, but that ain't my fault. Go whine to someone who cares.

RevengeofGothzilla 1 day ago

@RevengeofGothzilla

It's not even a matter of your political views, really, it's that you don't know what you're talking about... at all... whatsoever... in the slightest. I didn't subscribe to you for your political views... I thought I shared a common interest with you, how people can be really ******** stupid sometimes, but now, I'm starting to doubt the my choices here.

Oh, and if you're going to talk politics, maybe you should do your research before hand, huh?

MaliceXinXchains 1 day ago

@MaliceXinXchains Lets get some s**t straight, bro, okay? These OWS protestors do have a handful of valid points, but they're bitching about necessary evils. Right now this country's economy is held together with rubber bands and duct tape, and its partially their fault. The most effective Obama jobs program has been to convince more Americans they don’t want a job—without that, the unemployment rate would still be at least 9.5 percent. They voted for Mr. Yes-We-Can...

RevengeofGothzilla 1 hour ago

@MaliceXinXchains (continued) ...and he VETOED THE KEYSTONE XL WHICH WOULD HAVE LOWERED THE PRICE OF GAS, BOOSTED OUR ECONOMY, AND CREATED OVER 20,000 AMERICAN JOBS. He put the environmentalist agenda over creating American jobs. Yes we can? Guess he can't. They voted for him, and I need to do the research? I'm not gonna stop driving a V8 sports car just because he says I should, and vetoing the K-XL means we're still dependent on foreign oil, so every time I fill up...

RevengeofGothzilla 1 hour ago

@MaliceXinXchains (continued) ...which is often since my Z28 gets the same mileage as a modern SUV, that's blood on HIS hands. By vetoing that bill, he put some of our freedom in a box and sent it to Al Queda in a big gift-wrapped box.

RevengeofGothzilla 33 minutes ago

@RevengeofGothzilla

Let's just be clear about one thing... it wasn't just the OWS protestors that voted for Obama. Understand one thing for a second... they're protesting something that happened to everyone, and that something was rich ******** stealing money from them, which is wrong... they stole money for everyone, and it's not just Obama voters that were protesting anyway. Obama has barely a thing to do with OWS. And so, what, you don't like the OWS protestors because of...

MaliceXinXchains 1 second ago

@MaliceXinXchains

Obama? See, that doesn't make any sense... and seeing as Obama isn't really anything close to what OWS is really about, you calling the OWS protestors dirty hippies and the like and shifting your argument with me to a subject on Obama in an attempt to defend yourself is completely asinine... so what are you really trying to get at?

OWS protestors protesting a few crimes is equivalent to Obama doing something wrong and you having a problem with it? Really?

MaliceXinXchains 1 second ago

@MaliceXinXchains

I don't see your point, let alone any point you're trying to make with your new argument. Here's another something or other to understand...

I don't have a problem with your political stance, and I sure as hell don't see your point. Your point might have come into play further into your video, however, your ignorance early on in the video comes into play as a really good reason to stop ******** watching your video.

MaliceXinXchains 1 second ago

@MaliceXinXchains

And now, let me help you understand, once again, why I don't like you anymore.

1. You changed your style completely and showed me that you aren't who you were before, and you've become an immature s**t.

2. You claim to be a conservative, and yet, you don't understand the concept of "slavery" when choosing to go conservative. Being a conservative is slavery, and shows me that you wish for the world to be stricter and that you want the Government in charge.

MaliceXinXchains 1 second ago

@MaliceXinXchains

To continue the conservative point, you acknowledge the opinion that things are fine and that you wish things to continue down the path further (which equates to ******** us all in the a** further). You wish for the poor to get taxed further and the rich to get taxed less, and by wanting things that way, your issue with gas getting more expensive becomes a moot point, and you show yourself to be just as retarded as before, which helps strengthen my argument.

MaliceXinXchains 1 second ago

@MaliceXinXchains

3. By hating the protestors and thinking them to be morons, it means you hate all those who have created controversial music, you hate Che Guevera, you hate having a voice, you hate having freedom of speech, you support the SOPA and the PIPA bills (which, if you are unaware, are the bills that could kill the internet), you love oppression, you love the cops, you love police brutality, and many more things.

How does that all make sense? I'll tell you how...

MaliceXinXchains 1 second ago

@MaliceXinXchains

By hating these protestors, you don't like their cause. They're protesting things that have been killing this country... and you hate them? They wish for a better world, one that isn't so ******** up. When you dismiss what they're striving for as utter nonsense (bullshit for lack of a better world), you dismiss the idea of a better world.

If people didn't care what happened to them, no one would protest, no one would fight, and everyone would be in chains.

MaliceXinXchains 1 second ago

@MaliceXinXchains

What if the government controlled every single aspect of your life? What if they told you what to eat, what to wear, what to do during the day, what to spend your money on, who not to talk to, where not to go, what to think and so on and so forth, and that you HAD to do it and that you had no choice, how long would it be before you kill yourself?

To protest is to live.

To stay quiet is to die like a coward.

You, my friend, are a coward.

What happens when you decide to take up a political stance without having much of a clue what is really going on and forming half assed conclusions about the world and what should be done?

Not sure if trolled, or thread full of Irony.

Well it's just a good chunk of OWS (the mainly self-righteous, politically self educated, Internet based chunck) does just that.

Yes, I would like some too. I sure everyone want some more.
But if you're not specific I can't really help.

Let me be clear here. I'm a libertarian. For the most part, I agree with about 20% of what the OWS people talked about, and that was largely on "is [this] an issue?" The moment they opened their mouths about solutions I started belly moaning.

But what we have in this video isn't someone talking constructively about why the solutions the OWS people suggested were bad, what we have is a guy dressed as a goth listening to rap talking about how their degrees are useless, and that they should just get a job. Regardless of what they say, no one can pretend that unemployment isn't a problem right now. I have a B.Sc in Economics from a top 50 school, and I've spent all year taking paid internships doing data analysis to stay alive.

If all this thread is about is a guy making a shitty video, and the shitty comments he got on youtube in response, then this thread is a waste. The comments are just as holier-than-thou as the video is.

And while it might be one end of the spectrum clashing against another, I still feel as strong as ever about how some people are focusing the wrong point of view on things that are seemingly beyond their grasp.

While this might be a pointless thread, it can still open up eyes and have people talking about something they think is important to conjure a debate, hence what is happening currently.

You want people to understand what's going on?

Let me suggest a useful book: Advanced Macroeconomics by David Romer.

I work about 4 blocks from where Occupy DC was going on, and holy balls the signs those people had were obnoxious.

Edit: It appears as though you ignored me, but I think I can still edit old posts. So I'll amend what I said.

First off, a defense of Occupy Wall Street is not a defense of what is "just" and "good." It is not this;

Quote:

By hating these protestors, you don't like their cause. They're protesting things that have been killing this country... and you hate them? They wish for a better world, one that isn't so ******** up. The OWS movement was not a quest for a "better world." There were underlying issues that Occupiers tried to primarily focus on. Everyone wants a better world, realistically, the Occupy camps tried to address issues of equality and equity in the world following the '08 financial crisis. Specifically, I would claim, relating to taxes, finance, and employment.

I've gone to the Occupy camp. I do believe that regulatory capture is a problem, I do believe that there are issues with the bailouts, and I believe a bunch of other things that the Occupy groups thought were issues. But the problem is, I go to the camp, and people are talking about how their jobs were "stolen" by cheap chinese labor, how bankers "took" their money, how there should be a maximum wage people can earn, and carry around signs about "where is my bailout now." Those solutions won't solve the problems they want, it's a non-sector. In fact, broadly speaking, I think those policies would destroy what recover we have had.

Therefore, not liking the Occupy movement is not liking their cause. I like their cause. I just think the policies people within the Occupy movement were putting forward, through revealed preference of who participated, signs, and media statements, were not the direction I wanted to see the country go in.
