Evolution is about proving how life started.

Evolution is about explaining how life changes.

Your right. I'll change that:

Evolution is not a threat to creation and creation is not a threat to evolution. The only way these two become a threat to each other is when people change what they are really about. The creation story is not about how life started it is about who started it. Evolution is not about proving that there is not a creator it is the process of how life changes over time.

Out of interest; young earth creationism is at odds with evolution as the explanation for how things got as they are now, though.

Never heard of young creationism, but what I was talking about is the creation story in the bible never says how life came to be. It only says who brought it to be.

The evolution "theory" is just that a theory. But it is as much a theory as gravity is a theory because of the amount of fact suporting it. Get over it. Keep your "Myths" and "Beliefs" out of Fact suported science. A lot of people just don't want their little feelings hurt because they don't want to be humbled by the concept that we are not as "Special" as they thought they were. It is just simple human ignorance and ego.

okay.... now if you all can say these things on how the bible isnt true... how its made up from people's imaginations.... why is everything suddenly falling into place.... like for instance.... the bible has been read for over 2000 years... somebody just didnt insert the fact of noah's ark just appearing on mount everest, and there is a lot of proof that this happened.... and what about the ark of the covenant.... no body knew where it was.... it was a huge secret for years... and then it just shows up in turkey..... and what about the most recent news.... about in the bible how it talks about the end times it says how there will be enviromental disasters.... all in the same amount of time... (hurricane katrina, tsunami in asia , all these californian landslides)... natural disasters and then there will be wars and rumors of wars.... (seem familiar) and this isnt all opinion ... its all written in the bible clear as day. before things were made up, before people started developing all these different religeons... this is what i believe in people. I have my opinion ... i also believe... yes.... the church is kinda corrupt now because people are going insane now and condemning everything... did you know that murdering somebody is equal to stealing a candy bar... or cursing.... they are all sins... they can all be cleansed. so dont condemn people... because that only makes you less of a person. i see your too young and didnt go in enough science class to understand that evolution is not about a monkey turning in a man. Go read some highschool/university material and come back with valid arguments.

Because a theory means that there have been repeated experiments done to give considerable support to it existing, but human ignorance of its full grasp on reality prevents us from making a final, objective decision on its existence.

This is also why gravity is a theory. We can't test every single atom in the universe for a weak pull of energy, but please, we have enough research to give hint to its likelihood.

But it's still a theory. Just because it has evidence does not necessarily make Evolution a fact. No offense, but it looks like you need to look up what the definition of a scientifc theory truly means and what a scientific fact means too. Because the two have distinct meanings.

It's pretty clear that the bear bones of the evolutionary theory are correct. It is observable, and we use that on a fairly regular basis in agraculture. I don't see Genesis as being incompatable with Evolution, unless you hold the Young Earth Theory.

Evolution has approxiamately as much evidence as the theory of gravity.
Comparing it to Superstring is a little bit exhaggerative.
