I know multiple people who research these things professionally and can back up every last one of my claims with a very good amount of proof. it might be a while before they can get on and post it because they're up in Flagstaff right now but once they get back I will get them to pour out their information all over this argument. I am personally done with you people for now. You're annoyingly stubborn and I have better things to do than listen to you ramble on in ignorance. If you're just going to say the same thing as the person before you then don't. See you when my friends make you all look like idiots! lol (btw AngelofRelief, thanks. You spoke my mind! biggrin )

BAWWWWWWW

When your done throwing a tantrum because we didn't just roll over and believe your pack of lies and bullshit, please give some evidence or retract your claims.

LOL

"My friends will show up, and then your in trouble"....you sound like your 5 years old.....

Many aspects of evolution have been proven false (the big bang, cavemen etc.) even Darwin didn't believe it to be true!

You show your ignorance by thinking the Big Bang is an aspect of evolution.
Evolution is the prevailing scientific theory that explains, by interpreting empirical evidence, how from the simplest form of life, variety came to be, that is species came to be.

Even this is not actually evolution, but a theory on the origin of species that invokes the concept of evolution.

Evolution itself is proven every flu season.

Haha it's so easy for science enthusiasts to pick at individual pieces of someone's post and demand proof or some sort of citation.

Because Lord knows we can't have that in a scientific debate. . .

Quote:
For those of you that are going to say, "prove it!" I suggest you go to google and type in "the three laws of science evolution violates." You will find that it violates two Laws of Thermodynamics, and also the Law of Conservation of Information.

Reality disagrees. And why don't you present the elusive third law that evolution supposedly violates?

they are saying that it violates 2 laws of thermodynamics, as well as the conservation of information one. They are wrong, but at the very least it may be argued that can at least count....

Many aspects of evolution have been proven false (the big bang, cavemen etc.) even Darwin didn't believe it to be true! He said it was a possibility but he didn't actually think it was true. The only reason it is still taught in schools is because its the "norm" in a classroom. stare which works for society but I still think its stupid. if they're going to keep on teaching it at least update the information that you're putting into these kids minds.

Also many of the things in the Bible have been found and proven. Not saying that I need proof (I believe it without proof) but the fact that scientists (who believed in evolution) have actually gone and proven Christianity to themselves while trying to prove it false is amazing!
The big bang is not part of evolution, and please show one legit source that claims that "cavemen" didn't exist.

Oh... I really didn't even have to do that. Plenty of other people already tore her apart.
i just noticed that the OP hasn't posted in 3 yrs. So, why is this thread still continuing when there's a million others like it on the ED?

ive seen alot of monkeys. ive never seen any of them turn in to men.

That's because we didn't evolve from monkies, but a common ancestor.

Evolution is fact. I don't believe in it, believe implies faith. I know it's true.

Evolution is not fact. By this I mean that Macro-evolution is not a fact. Micro-evolution is a witnessable part of existence. For purposes of my post, evolution refers to Macro-evolution. Evolution requires just as much faith as believing in God or a higher power or anything else. The reason for this is that we can't directly observe it, have no proof of it (the required missing links remain just that, missing). There are an increasing amount of scientists, not just creationists but other accredited scholars who are beginning to refute the theory of evolution. If you choose to believe it that is your choice, but please realize that you are making a choice on faith as much as anyone who prays in church.

*sigh* I really really don't want to prolong a thread that should've been dead a long time ago, but I just can't stand the ignorance (and it's not like it's going to die if I just leave it alone anyway).

First off, I would like to know who these scientists are that you're talking about. And don't tell me scientists who got their degrees at some creationist school that isn't properly accredited like Kent Hovind.

Secondly, there is indeed evidence for evolution:

Algorithm for computing parsimonious evolutionary scenarios for genome evolution, the last universal common ancestor and dominance of horizontal gene transfer in the evolution of prokaryotes
Brain and cognitive evolution
Chloroplast and nuclear gene sequences indicate late Pennsylvanian time for the last common ancestor of extant seed plants
The Coalition for Excellence in Science and Math about Evolution and Theory
Coevolution by Common Descent of Fungal Symbionts and Grass Hosts

among others

(thx Westenblum for making my job so much easier... again)

thirdly, the London underground mosquito is more or less a demonstration on "observing" macro-evolution

Fourthly, even if macro-evolution isn't directly observable, something like quantum mechanics isn't either. Regardless, it has given explanations to things like black body radiation

Fifthly, science does not deal in proofs. It deals with evidence.

See above. I'll call that a foul tip.

Strike three, you're out.
Evolution is a theory. The theory of evolution is a very delicate
subject with many pros and cons. Your belief/disbelief in evolution
can be decided upon by rigorous research of both the good points and the
bad points. I attended a Jesuit (Roman Catholic) institution where the
theory of evolution was not taught. It is up to you to decide whether
or not the facts are adequately supported.
According to the bible, which has no sound evidence other than what is textually evident and speculated about through the mouths of believers and critics, the bible is said to be over 6,000 years old. That is clearly a discrepancy with the anthropological data scientists have collected. Carbon dating and other various other methods used to date the fossils of neanderthal, cromagnon and Australopithecus "Cave men" have given us knowledge that the earliest men were around some 10,000 years ago. So what happened to those 4000 years before God was said to have created the world. What is even more damning may be that dinosaur fossils are 65 million years old, and the earth is 4.6 billion years old at least (evidence is found in the layers of the earth's oldest rock). Clearly the scientific knowlege of the world and its founding is more soundly supported than the Bibles. What are the fundamentalists theory on the fossils? The funniest explanation I heard was from my sweet neighbor (I mean no offense to her because she is a dear person) who said that all that "evidence" was released from the government to confuse the masses and prevent my soul from going to eternal peace after death. Whatever.

And as far as the Theory of Evolution, evidence states that all living organisms share a common ancestor, as can be seen in the human and chimp similarity in DNA. Organisms obtained such a distinct diversity from one another because of mutation in their DNA, successful traits were kept and continued to changed. organisms continued to develop differently than one another because they were on a different path of evolution that kept them in successful competition within their environment. Mutation and evolution arises from seeing a need and filling it. Evolution is all about circumstance, and time and place.

Why do you keep copy-pasting passages from the internet? Or is your name 'Sally'?

Because this thread is stupidly funny. Reading unintelligent things can be quite entertaining.
