The problem is no one has seen a population in a species walk or fly off and become so genetically different over generations that they become their own distinct species, unable to interbreed with the species they left.

People who say they have are seriously exaggerating.

Speciation has been observed in scientific settings. You are wrong.

i dont think this thread is even worth it, i mean its a topic that scientists still cant figure out and are arguing about it because there is not enough evidence on either side.. even though i believe in the bible i am open minded about evoulution, people can believe what they believe it doesnt really matter you know? i mean its stupid if you were raised believing something and someone comes and tells you something else logically you wont understand or believe it and arguing will happen like in this thread it not just a matter where you state your religion/beliefs and give evidence about it since there are almost always going to be loose ends or people wiling to argue about it till the end where neither win. ninja

Then you do not understand the concept of science. Science is self-correcting because technology is always improving. Science does not seek to prove one hypothesis correct, rather, in testing contrasting hypothesis, one tries to eliminate those that are not correct and isolate a single hypothesis. Thus, there is no "proof" in science, only elimination of inadequate hypothesis. Science advances by disproof, promoting the most adequate propositions of the moment, while recognizing that new data advancements may bring about better explanations.

That is why we have such an extensive fossil record today, Over the last 200+ years, evolution has constantly been scrutinized and rigorously studied. Inadequate hypothesis have been done away with, and the more adequate ones have survived to be tested by modern technology.

I don't believe in evolution at all; I believe a higher being, Jehovah God, created
the universe and yes, I also believe in Adam and Eve being the first humans on Earth.

Evolution seems like a bunch of BS to me that scientists came up with one day because they
couldn't logically explain the existence of God without thinking it all just be a fairy tale.
What they fail to realize is that the belief in a higher being has nothing to do with logic and cannot be explained with big words and big definitions; you have to think with your heart to have faith in something. I know it sounds sappy like it came out of a chick-flick, but it's the truth.

And here's another point; how can mere evolution cause all that is around us? The universe is far too complicated for scientists to claim that everything just imploded in itself and created the planets and solar systems. Take the human body for example; How the hell could evolution have created something so complex as the human body? Look at all of our inner workings, our organs, our tissue, and everything that makes us tick. I believe that people are mistaking evolution, an organism changing into another organism, with adaption, an organism changing its way of life to coexist with other organisms and survive in a different habitat.

Belief in a higher being has nothing to do with logic.

That's for sure.

How could a loving God create something so flawed as the human body? We eat and breathe out of the same narrow opening, our appendix is not only unnecessary for our survival but can easily become infected and kill us, and don't even get me started on the brain, which has so many shortcomings it's either the product of a cruel designer or the result of trial and error development.

I think you are the one who is confused. How does adaption not result in speciation? Are you telling me that a population of some organism which adapts to so very different an environment that it can't even breed with it's parent population isn't possible?

Danger, Will Robinson - creationist bullshit in the vicinity. Evolution is very well-supported, by the way.

Very easily - see my above link.

Oh my hell, someone actually tried to use irreversible complexity.
im non-denominational just plain christian
i dont believe in evolution
I’m afraid to say that evolution is basically fact. Certainly it is a more plausible theory than that we were all created by a God in seven days. All the evidence points towards it, whereas there is none to even suggest a higher power had anything to do with it. The only thing there is to support that idea is a fictional book written so long ago it can surely not be taken seriously to this day, where even historical documents must be taken with a grain of salt.

As you've probably gathered from this, I'm a firm athiest.

You do realize that the Vatican has said that evolution is truth and that 97% of scientists believe in Evolution. It would have to be a MASSIVE conspiracy for scientists to say such things
