I wanted to vote in your poll but im Christian but you only have 2 denominations.

Okay. You are an idiot so I will explain this to you. Protestantism is not a denomination. Protestantism is simply a group of denominations that do not conform with the teachings of catholocism.

Also I've seen monkeys and humans but nothing inbetween. So all those who believe in evolution, please explain that!

Okay, you really are retarded. Just so that I can explain it simply, we did not come from monkeys, apes or chimps. We share a common ancestor with them. Which simply means that somewhere back in time, we had a group of one type of simian. The species obviously split up via mutation and natural selection to diversify. So we came from there as a bi-product. A very successful bi-product, but a bi-product none the less.

I go with the God creation theory because even if Adam and Eve didn't exist, who created the monkey? o.o

it evolved from earlier primates that evolved from smaller rodent like animals. God didnt just make anything appear. We all evolved from single cell bacteria.

That's quite a simplified explanation of primate evolution, but it works as a (very) general overview. Let's not forget that New World Monkeys diverged earlier than Old World Monkeys and apes.

i didnt really want to make an incredible long post explaining what we evolved from and every step. I just made it short.

I think that we evolved from a common ancestor, but someone got us started. I also believe that some of the stories in the bible were true, but many were exaggerated by the time man recorded them.

Oh like the one where the world was floded? Or when the gut lived in the fish?

Both are definitely exaggerated.

No, more like a chunk of Israel (or wherever Noah lived, not too sure) was flooded. With the fish/whale swallowing Jonah, I'm sure it's physically impossible to be carried around like that. Fish/Whale attack maybe? Just held in the mouth? Who knows, it's not like we were there! blaugh

How is Egyptian a religion?

There is some debate over whether Kemetic Reconstructionism is Pagan or African Traditional. (or both/neither.)

i dont think this thread is even worth it, i mean its a topic that scientists still cant figure out and are arguing about it because there is not enough evidence on either side.. even though i believe in the bible i am open minded about evoulution, people can believe what they believe it doesnt really matter you know? i mean its stupid if you were raised believing something and someone comes and tells you something else logically you wont understand or believe it and arguing will happen like in this thread it not just a matter where you state your religion/beliefs and give evidence about it since there are almost always going to be loose ends or people wiling to argue about it till the end where neither win. ninja

You will find that this is untrue. Scientists overwhelmingly support the theory of evolution because the evidence is undeniable and compelling.

That's not really the issue. Someone might consider such a statement biased.

The real issue is that almost half of the U.S. population doesn't know much if anything about evolution.

I know from personal experimentation that evolution is true but I would have a hard time convincing the some 20-30% of the population that doesn't believe what is in front of their nose is proof or even evidence. I think it is rather sad that this is really a result of overly zealous fundamentalism and lack of eduction. Time magazine ran an article not just within the past five years or so declaring the U.S. drop out nation.

It's really ironic that something empirical in nature has become a topic of religious debate. I would say arguing about evolution existing is like arguing if water exists for example.

Lets not forget that America also elected Bush.

Twice.

The most part of Americans are stupid, that's the plain simple facts of it the matter.
