wow, this thread is THREE YEARS OLD! Why and who would resurrect a thread about a topic that's been beaten to death a million times already?
The bible is mearly a book made by people in the bronze age when they did not know how anything happened. Some tribesmen made the OT to tell people what happened. You have to remeber other bronze age beliefs

The earth is flat
Spitting on a wound cured it
Sea monsters were a leginimate sea hazard.

So yeah. Evolution=fact Creation=bronze age belief

About jesus

Personally i think he EXISTED. But he was only a rabbi. I think his story was coppied from the egyptian god horus. Who came around a long time before Jesus.

Horus

Born on the 25th of december
Born to a virgin mother
Was the son of sun god
Was baptzed in a river by a baptist who was later beheaded
He cured leppers the blind and sick
He raised Arus from the dead (arus translates into Lazarus)
He was crucified
And after the 3rd day of being dead 2 woman declared that Horus, the savior of humanity had been saved.

Horus
Harpur or Acharya? Maybe Zeitgeist? Because almost all of the "facts" about Horus in your post are questionable at best, false at worst.
I don't really care
the human mind isn't really capable of comprehending a beginning to the universe
even if god created the universe, what created god? If god is a being that "always was", can't the universe exist infinitely on its own without a creator? Despite that, no matter how much you argue it, there is no way to prove any one side so there is no point in arguing it.

Not to be a total jerk here, but...that's kind of the point of this forum, really. To debate and discuss things like this. Hence it being ED.

Can you provide reliable sources for these claims? Because I think you simply copied it from the questionable Zeitgeist. Don't spread lies about Horus you blasphemer. Why are people so ignorant of egyptian mythology? stressed

Eh. Creationism is over-rated. Besides... I don't much care for the way so many christians push their faith on others... It's like what Hitler wanted to do... but slower... and more insidious.

I assure you, Athiests are just as bad about pushing their beliefs on others.

Beliefs? I wasn't aware we had beliefs. I mean there's the one about there not being any deities, but that's hardly being pushed onto others like the Christians do of their beliefs.

actually that would be an impressive feat, given that atheism is generally a lack of belief in god, thus any pushing would be a negative. Ever try to push a negative?

wordplay aside, a collective group that actively seeks to convert others are far worse the the individual atheist who try to change people's mind about religion. There is just no real organized effort to dissuade people of their faith that could compare to even basic church efforts to persuade to believe. This would be like comparing individual guerrilla fighters to a well coordinated army. One is people working towards an end on their own, while the other is a massive force working in tangent.

Pssh. Every cameraman knows that you pull the negatives; they're too flimsy to push. On a serious note, I have met some of what I used to consider the largely mythical "militant atheists". They're scary people, and some of them are as bad as the Dominionists - actually wanting religion regulated out of existence, or at least to have secular law completely void of any exemptions for religious freedoms. They're exceedingly rare, I know, but they're not entirely boogeymen either.

Okay...If we evolved from some monkey....or some mindless fish...or whatever...how come we still aren't evolving? Yes if such a thing was real it would take a very long time but we would still see it! It is a ever ending process, there would be a monkey pop out of its mothers womb with baby legs and monkey body, we would have found hundereds of big foots and we would catch a fish that could talk.

To an Evolutionist....Creationism is questionable....to a creationist Evolutonisim is VERY questionable.

Firstly, we didn't evolve from monkeys, we evolved from a common ape ancestor.

Evolution takes dozens, if not hundreds of generations to occur. Observable changes don't just sprout up immediately. Secondly, the reason we don't see monkeys popping out with baby legs or talking fish is because there's no environmental pressure for such mutations to thrive. If these mutations do occur, and there was pressure for them, we would see them more frequently.

And please, stop calling it "evolutionism". You make it sound as if it's a lifestyle or a belief. It's not, it's a scientific theory, one backed up by over a century and a half of extensive testing and peer-reviewed experiments, so stop trying to pull it down to the level of creationism. Evolution is crucial to our modern understanding of biology.

The reason is quite simple. There is no reason for us to evolve. We have completely mastered our enviorment. Any small evolution we go through is useless because they survive no better than the rest of humanity does. And actually huimanity has evolved in a very small way. In africa the sun was very consistent and always on us because we lived in the desert/savahna. So we had dark skin that was full of melonin (natural sun block) to keep us from getting damaged in the sun. But as certain tribes moved into the european area, the land was much more temprate and cloudy enviroment. The melonin was useless and siince people with very dark skin can get certain diseases in a temprate enviorment, those who had lighter skin survived better, could have babies that have lighter skin, and slowly replace the dark skin europeans with light skin.

We're still evolving, love. And what makes you think we've completely mastered our environment? Nature doesn't exist in a vacuum; we don't have control over earthquakes, meteor impacts, volcanic activity or any other catastrophe that could likely wipe our sizable chunks of the human population.
