Hey heart
I used to believe that Humans evolved from Apes. That all life came from single celled Organisms called Amoebas.

Then you didn't understand what evolution actually is. We didn't evolve from apes, that's ridiculous. We evolved from the same thing apes did, we share a common ancestor.

FromFirstToLast_Rock
Now I believe that god created us all, and the bible is fact.

Fair enough if that's what you want to believe. Nobody is making you look at the evidence for evolution.

Do you not believe in evolution at all?
I mean most intelligent theists (That's believers in god if you're too dumb to know) believe that evolution was God's work, that their holy book tells them that God created us and science tells us how.

I'm an atheist personally so I just leave god out of it.
I believe in evolution. I'm a die-hard darwinist. 3nodding
Why? Because it's everywhere around us. Human / homo sapiens are growing longer thumbs, adapting to their enviroment aka. evolution.
We're growing a longer spine aka. evolution.

Animals change all around us.

All are fit for what they need. Whales = lots of fat to keep warm in the cold seas.

I could never believe that suddenly POOF we'd be there.

Survival for the fittest, that's what I believe.

Evolution is fact, they have found tons of prrof, like dinosoar bones that are older than human bones. If god created humans first, how do you explain that???????? confused question question question
THAT is not exactly true...how do they prove that the bones are really what they call "dinosaurs"?

Because we've found complete skeletons of dinosaurs. We called the creatures whose bones we've been digging up "dinosaurs," among other things. There are certain anatomical features which distinguish dinosaurs from all other creatures, living and dead. Also, they're all found within the span of about 180 million years, the tail end of which was about 65 million years ago.

Quote:
Notice, that, it says "MAN" not...EVOLVE to man. wink

Notice that the Bible says that Pi = 3, bats are birds, rabbits chew their own cud, and that there's a solid firmament above the sky.

I'm guessing by this you're asking "how can they prove they are dinosaurs and not humans?"
Well, it's simple. Because they use DNA testing and carbon dating to find out exactly what time period these bones came from.
Now, i don't see humans with bones the size of a car, do you? Humans have been growing larger over the centuries, so, there's no way that a bone from over 65 million years ago that's larger than you could possibly come from any human.
I belive that Evolution is fact. The Bible says a lot of things, most of them being false. Vryko Lakas has repeatedly made the good point that the Bible states Pi = 3, and many other things that you know are not true. The Bible lies about many things. Including the origin of humans.

You're placing your belief in a text written by a group of men a few hundred years ago, who tried to explain the way the world was formed, without using science to be able to prove it. Thus, a religion was formed, based on a group of people who found this the easiest way to explain how they came to be. Nowadays, we don't need this text to explain it because science has advanced far enough for us to be able to accurately tell how we came to be. Hence, Darwins theory of evolution.

It all depends on how you look at it. I'm going to make another theory on how the Bible lies to those that belive in it. Take the Creation of the world. It states that God created the world in 7 days, yes? Glad we agree. Well, it's wrong.
Nothing could form a world like this in 7 days. Unless 7 days back then was a lot, lot longer than a day is now. I'm going to assume that a day could possibly be around 7 million years (If someone could work out a correct time scale i'll love you forever). Now we're starting to get somewhere.
Humans evolved after everything else, consistent to what the Bible says, with man being placed on the earth AFTER fish, animals, birds and plants. That much is true. If, by placed, you mean that humans evolved from a species of animal over a course of years equivalent to one Bible day, then there's a very very slight possibility that the Bible may tell the truth.

Does anyone actually understand what i'm trying to get at here amongst this rambling? That the Bible may tell the truth, but the Bible has the timescale and the wording are completely wrong.

In effect: Belivers of God's creation DO belive in Evolution, they just have a different (wrong) timescale of the whole thing.

Okay, that's all i can think of for now. It's a bit.... jumbled, but i think that you can understand what i mean. confused

The Bible is a book that teaches morality. It was used to control the masses, like most other religions were at one time or another. However, that doesn't mean that its morals are wrong. I'll bet that most people, athiests like myself included, would say that murdering people is wrong, yet that is the sixth commandment. What I'm trying to say is that religion is not a vaild or useful explaination of the world anymore, but it is useful as a source of a) hope and b) morals.
The Word of God (A song)

From desert cliff and mountaintop we trace the wide design,
Strike-slip fault and overthrust and syn and anticline...
We gaze upon creation where erosion makes it known,
And count the countless aeons in the banding of the stone.
Odd, long-vanished creatures and their tracks & shells are found;
Where truth has left its sketches on the slate below the ground. [1]
The patient stone can speak, if we but listen when it talks.
Humans wrote the Bible; God wrote the rocks.

There are those who name the stars, who watch the sky by night,
Seeking out the darkest place, to better see the light.
Long ago, when torture broke the remnant of his will,
Galileo recanted, but the Earth is moving still [2]
High above the mountaintops, where only distance bars,
The truth has left its footprints in the dust between the stars.
We may watch and study or may shudder and deny,
Humans wrote the Bible; God wrote the sky.

By stem and root and branch we trace, by feather, fang and fur,
How the living things that are descend from things that were.
The moss, the kelp, the zebrafish, the very mice and flies,
These tiny, humble, wordless things -- how shall they tell us lies?
We are kin to beasts; no other answer can we bring.
The truth has left its fingerprints on every living thing.
Remember, should you have to choose between them in the strife,
Humans wrote the Bible; God wrote life.

And we who listen to the stars, or walk the dusty grade [3]
Or break the very atoms down to see how they are made,
Or study cells, or living things, seek truth with open hand.
The profoundest act of worship is to try to understand.
Deep in flower and in flesh, in star and soil and seed,
The truth has left its living word for anyone to read.
So turn and look where best you think the story is unfurled.
Humans wrote the Bible; God wrote the world.

Well aren't you just a snarky little pissant.

I'm not a believer in this creationist bunk. But that song is more fot the OP and those who do find conflictions between their belief in the bible and reality, sure you are more then welcome to believe God made the world but don't think that dosn't mean science is WRONG. Man wrote the Bible, any pissantries of science in the bible are lucky guesses and things located from whatever sources they had at the time. Spiritual belief dosn't need a scientific disbelief and scientific belief dosn't mean atheism. Religion is a way to draw us in to what is profound and a way to find what we feel is The Absolute, Its not some gental fary tale made to blind us to the world, although that is what it can easaly be.

Still stands you're a jackass.

I bet you can't prove that evolution isn't real...

as for not seeing evolution it takes several million years... incase you missed that memo...
several million years for a monkey to turn into a man. oh wait thats right. monkeys dont live several million years.

See, now if you'd have said that along with your lyrics, I wouldn't have had a problem.

SOMETHING HAD TO HAVE MADE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH ........okay ...I'm done sorry about the rant
Standardized response: Why did something need to make it?

Standardized response: That's proof of infinite regression, not god. That's actually disproof of god.

That has to be the worst retelling of a regress problem I have ever read. o_O
The Evelution is Completly fiction. i cant even spell it. if it were real which its not, we'd still be evolving today and its been hundreds of years and I havnt seen anyone sprout wings yet.

Yes, because clearly, if Jonathonm980 is completely ignorant of what evolution is, it must be wrong. rolleyes
