That's true, there have been many species of human being alive on the Earth over the course of history. I think people tend to forget that. Creationists believe that all the other forms of man cohabited around six thousand years ago, though presumeably they killed eachother off such that only homo sapiens still survive today.

And they base this theory on; absolutely nothing!

I was thinking about Kent Hovind today. Man, there's a dude who SUCKS a**.

Now, now, gig... they *do* have a basis. A vague reference to "Nephilim," the mighty men of renown, the half-angelic heroes, in Genesis 6. wink

Or have we forgotten the YEC Pseudoscientific Method yet?

1. Find something that needs to be crammed into the Ussher timeline.
2. Find the vaguest biblical justification for it, even if you have to cram it in edgewise or fit square pegs into triangular holes (hypotenuse = side of square.)
3. Claim that it is the latest Silver Bullet that further vindicates YEC against evil, satanic, humanist, atheist, idolatrous, nazi, communist, liberal, antichristian, feminist, homosexual, pagan EvolutionIsm.
My opinion may be quite simple, but here it is:

Up until this year, when I took Chemistry and AP environmental Science, we had studied evolution every year.

I am christian, and I do not believe in evolution in the sense of we came from apes.

Now, there are sub species of homosapiens, archaeological proof actually. With that being said, why would I dispute concrete evidences?

Anyways, I just wanted to state that I believe in adaptive shift more than the entire spectrum of evolution.

Well, it seems to work for the atheists.
You seem to think that we all deny that your god exists. I personally don't, since His existence would be irrelevant to my own religion. ^.^

Granted I don't have the study, but do you have the study that says otherwise? where is the evidence for evolution? If it is indeed science then let science prove it.
Other people have already addressed this, but please get out of the habit of trying to shift Burden of Proof incorrectly. It is against the forum rules (which you should read). 3nodding

Why?

Why?
Evolution is fiction to me.

Not just because I am Christian, but becuase it simply does not make any sense.

Think about it, if we came from apes, dont you think apes would still be turning into men right now?

They have no physical proof of it.

Just makes no sense.

No. Apes are going down their own evolutionary path that is distinct from ours, because both branches split off millions of years ago from a common ancestor. I would NOT expect modern apes to become more humanlike.

HUR HUR HUR I DON'T WANT TO READ THE LAST TWO PAGES OF THE THREAD!
The have plenty of physical proof.

Not what i really wanted to say. I was speaking specifically of humanity. Truth is I never could believe evolution. I just never made any sense to me.
Yes, I'm sure that goes a long way towards making things false.

Well, it seems to work for the atheists.

Be that as it may, everything in our genes can be found in either our mothers or fathers genes as well. nothing new is added
Cite for this? Preferably from a reliable study.

They DID prove evolution, you dumbass.

Some stories can, but none of them can be linked to God
Actually some scientists or proved some of the bible's stories are real. And I don't mean prove because I do not know if they actually PROVED it but there was some evidence that some of the stories did actually happen.

Are you referring to the divine ones, or the political ones?
I believe in evolution because:

-animals(animals technicaly include us) adapt to meet their needs. Take, for example girafs. They evolved/adapted to their needs to reach leaves on tall trees, so the went down to walmart and bought themselfs long necks. Humming birds needed to extract nectar from plants, so their beack evolved into long thingamabooblies.

-How would you explain domestication? A long long time ago(in a continent far far away) people looked at the wolves and said "look at that thing, yo. it totally sniffs things out with it's nose to eat 'n stuff." "yeah, if we could somehow capture them and make them all, less blood thirsty and junk we could use them to hunt and whatnot." "nah, adaptation is just a myth. like North Dakota." "Dude, ya'll need to get out more. ya know, Darwin?!" "... ya know. God..." "No, actually." "Well then." "m'kay" "now what?" "I'm going for doughnuts."

-And what of the bable fish? That's a dead give away! "I refuse to prove that I exist." says God, " for proof denies faith and without faith I am nothing."
'But," says man, "the Bable fish is a dead giveaway, isn't it?. It could not have evolved by chance. it proves you exist, and so therefor, by your own arguments, you don't"
"oh dear," says god, "I hadn'y thought of that." and promptly vanishes in a puff of logic.
"Oh, that was easy," says man, and for an encore goes on to prove that black is white and gets himself killed in the next pedestrin crossing
I'm not to sure how this proves my point, but I had to include it rofl
Actually, a lot of stories in the bible ARE true, but most of the ones that do are the ones that correlate to the myths of other religions.
