I do believe that would be more properly called a common hominid ancestor rather than a modern monkey.

Yeah, just never attempt to make a line of evolution. Evolution is not anagenetic and it's too difficult to trace through the exact ancestry of things.

Pagan is the umbrella term. And any religion that does fit into a neat little package goes there. Like someone who worships Loki and Coyote are considered pagans.

Yeah, just never attempt to make a line of evolution. Evolution is not anagenetic and it's too difficult to trace through the exact ancestry of things.

Well a direct line doesnt exist. If you have ever tried to make a cladogram it is very difficult and the branching goes on forever. However, it isnt impossible to link everything. The bacteria problem arose because as biologists, we have to assume a few things since we dont have access to every species that have ever existed. We just assumed that the archae led to eukarya b/c of the structure. But that is off topic. We make connections not so much "lines" and we can still get the general order.
