I believe a bit of both. God created all life and gave that life the ability to evolve. Evolution has been proven through fossils and what not. But at the same time, life had to start somewhere....

And you presume God.

Technicially the beginning of life is not an issue for the theory of evolution, But is one of abiogenesis.

and I don't buy into the whole "We are apes" thing...

Taxonomicially speaking, we are.

In those little tree diagrams people draw, the fit under Great apes. The proof is in the pudding after all. Geneticially, anatomicially, and based on the fossil record, that is where we belong.

Emphasis mine.

That is not going to happen. Not everyone believes in you god, or any god, or that their deity had a direct hand in our creation.
As for the other, I am not aware of any country that matches your requirements.

Oh, I think you misunderstood me. I meant, I don't think it matters if christians believe it either way. I mean, I don't think the schools should teach that God or a god induced creation (through evolution or creative design or by any other means). You know what I'm saying?

Fair enough.

As for the countries, there are a few: England, Spain, Vatican City <---I think there are a few more.

England is a very secular country, with an anglican royal family.
Spain is fairly secualr, and the vatican isn't exactly a country in the traditional sense.

I kind of realized those things after I read them xD I meant like--well, in countries like that, they'd actually have a basis for calling it a CHRISTIAN country, unlike the US which is definately not christian. In fact, democracies/republics (lets not get hung up on terms :p) were the governments least associated with Christianity. Arghh, people who believe in that "christian right" stuff--ick, don't get me started.

dont you know that America was founded by a Bunch of christians?like our 1st president and the signers of the constitution?LOOK it up, its there!

LOL@TREATY OF TRIPOLI
The founding fathers
Art. 11. As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion; as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquillity, of Mussulmen; and, as the said States never entered into any war, or act of hostility against any Mahometan nation, it is declared by the parties, that no pretext arising from religious opinions, shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries.

That, and European governments in general, (including Spain and Italy) are much more secular than our government.

The Government of Spain is very secular. They fairly recently lowered the age of consent so that it's the same for all homosexuals and heterosexuals.

Thirteen years old! Yes, it's legal for a thirteen year old boy to have sex with a fifty-six year old man in Spain. Think about it.

Heres a rare case. Ive heard of people beleiving god created man and then learning about evolution and beleiving it, but never the other way around. Its a shame, i would have considered you intelligent but it seems its too late.

read your bible kids!
I've taken Bible study ever since I was 9.
I know what I'm talking about!
and maybe I don't know for sure whether someone is going to heaven or live with Lucifer...judgement day will come...then we'll know!

Perhaps you should try learning something else. Like philosophy. Then you might notice what a bunch of crap you've been posting.

I get the impression you're the only "kid" here.

Have you ever actually read the bible? Not the nice snippets your teacher showed you. The whole thing? I doubt it.

not yet, but my teacher has 3 times...from cover to cover!

That's impressive? lol.

It's not THAT large a book that reading it three times in a life is impressive.

And I didn't ask about your teacher. I asked about you.
So. You have not read the bible. And yet claim to have the wisdom to make broad claims about the fate of someone elses soul. Someone you have only just met?

Your arrogance is astounding.

No, whats impressive is that her teacher could stomach reading it 3 times through.

Not that difficult to imagine. As I have posted before, the Bible is full of sex and violence and beautiful words. It can be a very entertaining read.

That girl she makes me pulverised, I feel so very strange.

Really? I think that the random mutation of genes, Natural Selection, and Speciation are the reason for the change in gene frequencies in a species over a period of time. Then again, that's because it's more logical that "Liek, l3t th3r3 b3 light!" (no offense to the christian god.) It's fine that you believe it, however, i'd like to see a little bit of proof on the side of creationism before I can truely begin to appreciate it.

Nothing wrong with believing that there was a guiding hand behind evolution.

I don't, but for those of a religious persuasion it is an entirely reasonable position to take.

I realize.

I've read about the first quarter of it.
Back when I was still a catholic.

But reread genesis. Properly. I don't mean stare at the words and speak the sounds.

READ it.

And then tell me that is a literal story.
