Dumb school rules?

At my school, we aren't allowed to dye our hair any unnatural color... we have a guidance counselor that tells us, "I like to see NORMAL hair colors, like blond, brown, red, or black."
Also, on the first week of school, we were "too loud" in the cafeteria, and a few students were throwing their silverware away, and they gave us assigned seats! On the first week!
Oh, and one of my friends got sent home early on the first day just because he had purple tips on his hair.

What a coincidence: I just read the entire rule book, so I have a list!
No studded belts, no facial hair, no wrist bands, no bringing bags to class, no sitting on the ping pong tables (kids use them as seats more than to play ping pong). And that's not the worst part. There's no rule against MP3's AT ALL, we still have teachers telling us to take them off during lunch.

We have to wear our blazers (I'm British, so we have to wear uniform) to and from school. If you want to wear a coat, it goes over your blazer. Shirt tucked in, tie knot has to be small enough, black shoes, no dangly earrings. The dumbest uniform one is you can wear a necklace but it has to go under you shirt, ie. you can't see the pendant. confused I could probably think of more, but it's the holidays, so I can't.

I have another one (from a different friend): you can't bring anything to the bathroom with you. EVEN PADS AND TAMPONS!

Schools overreact. That's why kids dye the TIPS of their hair. So they can cut it off if need be.
I wanted to dye my hair black, which I deemed a normal color, but mom said that the school would consider it "abnormal" once I had roots. rolleyes

Again, I ask- Why does it matter that you wear whatever you want in school? School is a place for learning. Does what you wear affect whether or not you can learn?

And for that matter, if people are allowed to wear whatever they want, why shouldn't they be allowed to wear nothing if they want (i.e. come to school nude)?

Well, theres "no energy drinks" at our school, I can see why. Damn kids falling asleep and more. Then there is no dirty dancing :l ... wth, is the point of that? >_>

I have very stupid rules in my school:
-Tuck in your shirt
-wear a belt
-Don't wear cargo pants
-don't carry a bag around the school, only purses.
These are ALL stupid rules that I sometimes break. I just forget to do that and I am already in trouble. I don't have no 1st violation or something like that. My school is a private, and catholic school. I even saw students that are not even catholic here but have to study catholic religion. That's bogus!!!!!!! gonk

Nothing out of the ordinary, really. I'm just really pissed that we only get 15 minutes for recess and 25 minutes for lunch. And during that time, we're expected to go to the bathroom if needed, get stuff from the lockers, go to the lunch room which is ALWAYS over-crowded and it takes you 10 minutes just to buy a bottle of water. Leaving you with 3 minutes of eating time, basically. For subjects after recess and lunch, no going to the bathroom. We have this hall pass thing which is a piece of paper that the teacher has to sign for you to go out of the classroom whether it's to the lockers, bathroom or clinic. And you can only go out 25 times in a month.
