Yay for college and the lack of shitty school rules. :D
Let's see. My old high school had some annoying rules but most of my teachers were pretty lax about it.
-Mandatory Pledge of Allegiance every morning. They didn't really have any way to see if you were actually reciting it, but you were required to stand. I didn't stand for the pledge and most of my teachers were fine with that, but I had one teacher that told me it was school policy to stand or I had to go wait down in the office or at least outside the classroom. It didn't really bother me too much, it just gave me an extra 5 minutes or so to get to class while they did morning announcements.
-Zero tolerance tardy policy. Teachers were supposed to lock their doors the minute the bell rang and not let anyone in. This was an absolutely ridiculous policy. First of all, my school was waaay overcrowded and past the building capacity, this made moving through the halls to get to your classes next to impossible sometimes. Then if you don't make it you have to go all the way down to the office, wait in line with however many other people missed the bell, and get a pass signed so you could go to class. Something like 3 passes got you a detention. All in all, it ends up taking nearly 20 minutes out of class instead of the 1 minute that someone was late.
-No bags in class. Yay for paranoia, this was in place to prevent bombs or guns or something like that. It was really a pain in the a**. I had several classes that I didn't have time to go to my locker in between without piling up tardies and I had a ton of books to carry for them. So I had to carry a huge pile of books that was heavy and awkward.
-No leaving the building. We had several fast food restaurants that were 5 minutes, at most, away from the school but weren't allowed to go there. Instead we had to eat the wonderfully over-priced and just as unhealthy cafeteria food in an overcrowded cafeteria.
