Dreams and goals are two separate things.

Dreams are something that one would like but aren't willing towards getting, or that which is very unlikely to be obtained. E.g. "I want to be a rock star!"

Goals are things that one is trying to and can obtain.

There comes a point in time where the only option might be to do whatever is necessary to get there. The only thing to guide you on what future choices you make are the values/morales and virtues that you are instilled with.
