No clue. I think it just helps with the views!

Does the clicking really do anything?

Yes, the clicks help the egg hatch, but there is an equation for this...There must be more general views, less unique views and even less unique clicks. So the more individual people who click on your egg, the faster it seems to hatch. But, if one person clicked on your egg and no one else does...then it doesn't.
(this is just a quick, simple example, I think it is really much more complicated mathmatically than that) Hope that helps.
