Welcome to the Dragon Cave Nesting Grounds!

I'd like you to meet little Liho and Hogosha Kouseki (we call her Seki). Both dragons were born and raised on this very thread by two of the many regulars here. Seki now sits guard over our nests making sure everyone's dragons grow up into fine adults. And little Liho is our little hatchling (frozen in time) here to play with all the dragons once they hatch. With the help of these two, I man these nests and watch over everyone's dragons to make sure they grow up.

I do not maintain this topic like I once did. If you want your dragon cave scroll posted on the first page, please PM it to me. The rules here are simple, post your eggs and hatchlings to get views and clicks, and click everyone else you see!

FAQ
Common questions about raising dragons to be answered here! Let me know if there are other common questions you think I should post here as well. smile

What's this about? The dragon cave site is where people can "steal" eggs to grow dragons of their own. You'll often see these eggs in signatures. As your dragon gets more views, your egg cracks, hatches, and then you have a hatchling that gets more views, and becomes an adult dragon. Just register on the site (it's free!) to get a scroll of your own and head to the cave to snag an egg of your very own!

What is the difference between Views, Unique Views, and Clicks? Views are accumulated every time someone views the actual image of your egg/hatchling/adult. Unique Views are obtained in the same way, except only one unique view is given per egg per person. A "click" occurs when someone clicks on your egg in your signature or wherever you place it, and views the page that contains all of the information about your creature. As with Unique Views, clicks are only given once per person.

How many views does it take to hatch an egg? Or make a hatchling grow up? There is no definite amount of Clicks, Views, or Unique Views needed. This ranges from egg to egg, and has to do with how many Unique Views or Clicks you have as well. The less Unique Views, the more normal Views you will need. Also note: you can not make your egg hatch (or your hatchling grow up) faster than 3.5 days.

What makes my egg soft? Or my hatchling sick? And how do I cure it? There are currently 3 different reasons your egg could be soft (or hatchling sick):
1. More clicks than unique views. Remove the link part of the code, so you are only posting the image. This will prevent people from giving it any more clicks until the ratio is fixed.
2. More unique views than views. Personally, I think this has got to be rare! To fix? Keep posting your dragons where you've already been so the same people see them again. This your View count is up, and you're all better.
3. Too many views too fast. If you got a lot of views on the first day and your ratios are otherwise healthy you have this kind of soft shell. This can be fixed by hiding the dragon for a little while.

Can you trade eggs or hatchlings? Sort of. wink There is no trade option on the Dragon Cave site. In order to "trade", one person abandons their egg/hatchling, and the other one attempts to rescue it. This is obviously not a 100% safe method, as someone else could also snag the abandoned dragon.

What inspired this fantastic thread? A thread Willa-Wisp runs in one of the guilds I'm in where we all take very good care of each other's eggs. The guild is a great mix of people, we have rp folks, artistic folks, and always fun people to hang around and chat with. Most of us met in Tree's chatterbox thread, The Dragon's Lair Giveaway Thread. She started the guild once we had a lot of regulars that really enjoyed each other's company, aptly named
